Would USC Beat The Worst NFL Team?

what would the score be if the USC Trojans played the Houston Texans?

CDSmith 12-03-2005 11:09 PM

28 - 17 Trojans.

FelixFlow 12-03-2005 11:10 PM

not a chance (of usc winning)

King Adam 12-03-2005 11:11 PM

They could beat Houston and Detroit. Problably can beat Cleveland, Arizona, and 49ers.

69pornlinks 12-03-2005 11:13 PM

fuck no, every few years talk like this come up. you cannot compare the pros to college..usc would get killed by the texans...usc is a great college but would be a weak ass nfl team

Chaldoray 12-03-2005 11:15 PM

You morons, NFL have the greatest coaches, and much more aggressive and tenacious players. There's not a competition vs the crappest NFL steam vs the best college team.

give me your reasons.

i think it would be a close game between them and the worst NFL teams.

Every player on the Houston Texans is NFL caliber - obviously from their record many of them are pretty near the bottom at their positions. Half the USC team is NFL caliber and the rest aren't that far off. USC's offense and defense works - Houston's don't - the Trojans are a well oiled confident team with schemes that work and they execute them. I think it would be very close and I think USC would have a real good shot at beating the worst NFL teams.

would be real interesting to watch - i'd like to get a guy like Mel Kiper's opinion - somebody get him in here.

The Demon 12-03-2005 11:25 PM

What a stupid thread, Matt Leinhart would be dead after the first sack and Reggie Bush would face the same consequences on the first tackle, so there goes USC..

dig420 12-03-2005 11:29 PM

584-3 Texans. And that's only because they put the third string in after the first quarter. Puh-leeze.

Alex 12-03-2005 11:29 PM

Of course not. USC is only good in comparison. They are only no.1 in thier league because the other college teams they play suck compared to any NFL team.

Sure Matt Leinhard and Reggie Bush are both probabbly ready to play in the NFL, but they still have a lot of growing to do.

THe answer is no.

Some NFL coaches are tossers. Look at Mariucci, two-time loser. How shitty do you have to be to get fired from Detroit? Many college teams are notoriously well-coached, and are also very well funded, some as much as any NFL team.

More tenacious players? Wake up man, no one is hungrier or more tenacious to get into the NFL than the players on teams like USC. No one. And those ARE the next wave of NFL superstars right there.

I think the best college team vs the worst NFL team would actually be a good game to watch no matter who wins or loses.

Conclusion: I wouldn't go calling anyone "moron" if I were you.

wedouglas 12-03-2005 11:36 PM

No way. any nfl team would kill them.

wedouglas 12-03-2005 11:37 PM

if detroit can score 14 points against a good nfl team, but lose by 21, the college team would get smoked.

I'd like to think so, but anyone can have an off game, and I've seen some US college teams play some strong ball.

I'm disinclined to say it's impossible.... because it isn't.

dig420 12-03-2005 11:40 PM

Ask yourself how Duke would do against the Lakers. There's your answer.

King Adam 12-03-2005 11:40 PM

I thought a lot of it was about teamwork. USC and Texas have that. But there are some NFL teams that don't and are all over the place.

I really think Detroit is the worst in the league .. just my opinion. But I think USC could be them, maybe take 2 out of 5 games.

High Quality 12-03-2005 11:41 PM

Depends entirely on average weights. If there is a neglible diff between the houston texans lineup and USC in weight, I'd be USC could beat them.

CDSmith 12-03-2005 11:50 PM

I've seen the absolute shittiest NFL team beat the best team in the league before, I'm sure of it.

Think about it... if a 12 and 0 team can lose to a 10 and 1 team, anything is possible.

I am simply not willing to say it's impossible that the best college team could beat the worst NFL team. I don't know how any of you can sit there and so confidently say it is, when it isn't.

And the neat part of it is, we'll never know. :D

pocketkangaroo 12-03-2005 11:53 PM

You guys are insane. USC would lose by 70.

NFL teams are faster, stronger, bigger, and just overall better. If you put everyone from USC in the NFL, I'd say 10 right now would even make an NFL team. Out of that, maybe 1 or 2 would even start on an NFL team right this minute. Not even Leinert would be at the level to start an NFL game right now.

the best college basketball team would give the worst NBA team a close game.

dig420 12-03-2005 11:54 PM

OMG I can't believe this thread LOL This is INSANE.

The very very best player on USC might or might not make it in the NFL. Any defensive line in the NFL would steamroll right over USC's offensive line, 3 out of 5 plays would be a sack, by the fourth quarter USC would be starting the coach's nephew's cousin at quarterback. Every Detroit running play would be a first down. The Detroit wide recievers most likely would run right by the USC safeties.

This is the NFL!!!!!! This thread is like asking whether the toughest kid on your block could whip Bernard Hopkins. It's completely ridiculous.

No they wouldn't. They'd get beat by 50. At least.

"could".... not would.

It's possible, is all I'm saying.

dig420 12-03-2005 11:57 PM

It's possible that I'm typing this on my laptop while I'm sitting in your closet spying on you. It's possible that aliens could land on the white house lawn in the next 10 minutes.

It's not likely, but it's possible.

Exactly.

David slew Goliath, remember? :1orglaugh

dig420 12-04-2005 12:02 AM

sure, it's 'possible' that that's a true story :)

Mutt 12-04-2005 12:04 AM

alrighty then - what about the Houston Texans with dig420 at quarterback versus the USC Trojans?

dig420 12-04-2005 12:11 AM

I'd be carried off the field after the first play and they'd put in a more capable replacement. I have very strong arm but I'm too short. Think Doug Flutie at 40. :1orglaugh

dig420 12-04-2005 12:13 AM

Actually now that I think about it they might give me enough time to drop back, wait a beat and then just gun it as deep as I can, let the pro recievers just run under it lol

I'm still getting carried off on a stretcher the first time I get hit though :Oh crap

Flutie is 43, still playing, and is still a pretty good QB.

Like I said.... some things are not impossible. :D

dig420 12-04-2005 12:16 AM

A better question is whether these Trojans could beat the '95 Cornhuskers :)

NO WAY MAN!!!

Think Doug Flutie at 40 who only played one year of high school football because he was too slow of a runner and wrestled instead.

chadglni 12-04-2005 12:17 AM

Worst discussion ever. Could the little league baseball team beat the red sox?

wedouglas 12-04-2005 12:19 AM

I also think a lot of it could come down to conditioning and size. NFL players are probably way better conditioned and weigh a lot more.

You really think college football is = to little league baseball?

A college team beating any NFL team is just as retarded as the question I posed. It would never happen in 1 game or 50000. All you'd end up with is a bunch of retired college football players.

I think Flutie would still aquit himself well.

But I see your point.

I don't know. Some of those college "kids" are already 285 lbs, solid muscle. Some are 6'2" to 6'4", running just as fast 100 yard sprints as many NFL'ers.

All I'm saying is... it's possible they would provide a decent game for the absolute WORST NFL team. That's all.

Much flukier and freakier things have happened in this world.

billywatson 12-04-2005 12:28 AM

Remember, kids...the top 1% of ALL college players go into - and make - an NFL team. Which means 2.2 of the starters for USC's team are gonna make the pros.

USC gets tromped by ANY NFL team. Even the bad ones.
