I think USC could beat Detroit with Joey Harrington as the QB.
|
You'd think having the ability to admit when something is possible would be common too.
Thank Gawd it's football day tomorrow. It's possible that most of my pool picks will be right (but unlikely) :D |

bullshit, RIGHT NOW, only about 4-6 guys playing for USC are NFL Caliber (can step in and make the final cut) EVERYBODY, including your 2nd & 3rd stringers, of the Texans are NFL Caliber - because they're already in the league! the NFL is the best of the best football players in the WORLD playing against each other...every team that steps on the field on any given sunday, has a chance of winning that day's game...USC is playing other college teams, who's talent level is FAAAAAR less experienced & skilled than that of any NFL team do u not see the point?? |

wow, u really don't have much of a clue about sports bro !! :winkwink: |
No college team would beat a pro team in any sport. All the best players from college teams are playing for the pro teams! :D
|
Any NFL team on thier worse day would kick the living shit out of even a college all star football team.

I wouldn't go about calling anyone a "Moron if i were you?" Mind explaining to me what you mean by that? |
If they played I would be the farm on the NFL team... heck even the top draft players, most of them don't have imediate impact in the league the first year.. It would not even be close.
|
50..,....... :arcadefre
|
nope - USC would get their ass handed to them by any NFL team
|
The worst NFL team on their worst day..would run them over.
|
Not only would USC beat the hell out of the Houston Texans (and I live in Houston) but they would also put as many of the Texans' players on the DL -- or worse -- as possible.
College football is brutal...they are all hungry...trying like hell to make an impression for an invite to the big show. Additionally, college players KNOW there's only 'so many' of them that will get drafted so as a course of "normal" play, they are trying to maim the other side. NFL players are a little more reserved with their sky-high salaries, mansions, rolexes, Escalades and other bling. With the exception of some truly hard hittng DB's, they are much softer now that they have hit the big time.. And think about it...every player on the USC team would do about anything to make a little more room in the NFL so they can "come up." USC: 42 - 3 Texans: 4 players to the DL & 3 more with career-ending injuries :2 cents: |

Mutt your thinking is way off track here.
It's like saying the national high school championship team could beat the worst Division 1A college team. It would never happen. Only the best of the best high school players get to play in college. Only the best of the best college players get to play in the NFL. The worst team in the NFL is 3 times better than the best college team, at least 3 times better. The reason USC's offense and defensive schemes work is because they're playing against weaker competition. It's like the baseball player who strikes out everyone in the minor leagues with his 98MPH fastball, but when he gets to the majors they light him up like a christmas tree because guys at the major league level can hit pitches that fast and he doesn't have any offspeed pitches to go with it. |

Some funny posts in here.
Speed kills. The worst team in the history of the NFL would not lose to a college team. The first thing any drafted college player will tell you when they get in the pros is they can not believe the speed. Not to mention the size and experience of the pro players. The play calling alone by a NFL team would destroy a slower, lighter, younger college club. College ball although fun to watch is in its most basic form. |
Even if you took the top 1% of best college players and formed an all-star team they wouldnt compare. Although these 1% are ready to get in the NFL, they are nowhere near ready to play. The speed, size, and overall epxerience of NFL pros is 3x better then college players.
How many college draft picks that leave college to go to the NFL start, let alone make a big impact. |
If the top 1% of current college players and incoming frosh were able to be assembled and play together for say 8 weeks of training... and then 4 games against the best college teams out there that year - THEN they would have a chance against the worst NFL Team IMHO.
A Big part of it would be not only getting players who are all ready to play that leevel of a game together but more so... to get them to play together .. |
