I just got a Video I POD

It's awesome....

I'm downloading the entire first and second seasons of Desperate Housewives.

As soon as I can figure out how to get movies, I can see my trips to Europe will be less boring.

Anyone else have one?

KRL 12-04-2005 12:21 AM

I bought one for my son and have to say it's one of the most amazing devices I've ever seen. The display quality is unreal. Looks like HiDef. And the interface is so simple to use.

Steve Jobs is a genius.

chadglni 12-04-2005 12:24 AM

Couldn't afford one so I bought podsavers.com instead.

quantum-x 12-04-2005 12:51 AM

Psp ;)

phonesex 12-04-2005 12:53 AM

at the apple store the other day to check out the nano. Unbelievably small. Going to order one for myself for christmas.

You lookin' for a desperate housewife sweetie? :)

iTunes.com is now offering television shows. I expect it won't be long before they offer movies.

Course, I made an error. I downloaded season 2 when I really wanted season 1.

The sound quality is very nice. I truly hate the iPod ear pieces; but, Sony has the ear jams and they are comfy, surprisingly so.

Manowar 12-04-2005 06:35 AM

I got a PSP instead, but both rock

Satisfaction 12-04-2005 06:41 AM

yeh i got me a PSP as well

Raven 12-04-2005 07:03 AM

I needed something for the gym...this is perfect..and the video will serve me well when I fly....I think the battery or whatever it is... lasts like 20 hours or so? Course, we'll see.

JoeMeca 12-04-2005 07:45 AM

no pics wtf lol

Verbal 12-04-2005 08:02 AM

For the last seven months, I've been working out at the gym and it is BORING.

I've resisted buying an iPod because I so hate the ear plugs...they hurt my ears.

But, these Sony ear thingies are very comfortable. Last night, we went to the gym and the time flew by....I have a feeling I'm going to feel the same way you do.

Ipod video is not the thing you work out with , its way toooo heavy compared to the more compact more portable nano

the video is the one for your car or for on the plane , not to work out with :2 cents:

you can play ALL movie formats on the ipod video ,

any movie you download can be played on the ipod when converted :2 cents:

Fits into my pocket....

Agreed it's heavier than others; but, not heavy enough to matter...

What you said about the battery, however, is a little disappointing. I should have known. Sigh.

The video part is for the plane. My flights are generally eleven hours or so. The movies offered by the airlines only take a girl so far...and the iPod can cover a few episodes of television or a movie or so. Thanks for the info.

A portable $300 DVD player and a few dvds can do just the trick as well.

Basic_man 12-04-2005 08:54 AM

I was thinking about buying one.. but I don't know what videos to put on it.. :D

Any video you download can be converted and burned to DVD...
The main advantage I see for iPod video or similar devices is that they can be smaller than a DVD :upsidedow

Dude it takes sd cards it had infinate memory.. Nothing to agrue here the PSP is far superior product to IPOD in every way, cept maybe its a little bigger. But still much smaller than DVD.

Raven 12-04-2005 09:10 AM

That's the beauty of the video iPod....it's small enough to fit into my purse. No dvds to carry onboard...

The issue of battery life on the plane...is that one with a solution? I don't see where one can buy an external battery, nor do I see a place to hook it up.

lol , ? ?? the psp has like NOOOO memory , whatever way you look at it , the PSP is only good if you like to play games, and even then it is kind of crap because the price for just one game is outrageous

with the IPOD you can download any video file you want and put it on the machine after converted ,

the only bad thing about the IPOD right now is the battery life when playing video

but still its far superiour to the PSP if you want to use it for video , :thumbsup

tony286 12-04-2005 09:20 AM

congrats on your purchase

Its official your retarded.. SD cards are huge (gigs and growing) now days and you can change em out if you wanted.. I mean maybe the hdd in ipod is bigger but its just not a good package if you ask me. Also the ipod isnt expandable in any way. Battery life is up to 10 hours on the psp with optional pack. Do some research before you open your trap again G.

dont make me laugh puss

the IPOD has upto 60 gig witout any optional card , that alone makes it far superiour

also, the PSP is FUCKING BIG, its for gamers, not for people who need a portable video device

being big makes it kind of less portable,

Like i said the hdd IS bigger.. More prone to failure too! My lady has had 3 Ipods in the last couple years they keep failing.

I mean how many videos you wanna take with you I mean thats stupid. A movie is 1.5 hours or so so practical use says you'd only need to bring a couple movies for a major flight or something.. At least with the PSP you can play some games too. Or connect and browse wirelessly on the internet.

The IPOD's short battery life makes it impossible to watch more then 1 or 2 movies anyway. That tiny screen is worthless.. Which one would you rather have along?

..

Also where are you getting movies for the IPOD anyway? They have to be illegal rips most likely.. Thats naughty..

Deputy Chief Command 12-04-2005 09:40 AM

you can download any movie file and convert it to the Ipod,

how you got that file is not relevant , overall for me the Ipod video is better

if you like the PSP better, good for you

the end :)

Alex 12-04-2005 09:49 AM

You guys should have a fucking fist fight.

Its obvious both of you would die for your product.

Linkster 12-04-2005 10:07 AM

Raven - I love mine - Sunny Dollars sent me one a few weeks ago and it rocks - yes you can buy an external battery pack for it - some Walmarts even carry them - and it plugs in to the standard port on the bottom.

(BTW - Thanks Sunnydollars) :)

Linkster.....you've given me hope...my flights are long and the gym is boring.

When I travel, this little iPod fits into my purse...no dvds to carry....for the gym, it fits into my posket for music...dual purpose appeals to me.

I have enough to carry when I travel....the laptop, etc....and I am not a big fan of taking loads of crap onto the plane...what with the hassle of security and customs.

pradaboy 12-04-2005 10:52 AM

I've been doubting between the nano and video ipod, can't really make up my mind.

I really think it depends on what you need or want....we wanted it because of specific reasons....gym and travel...it's an adequate solution that fits both needs.

Audrey 12-04-2005 11:06 AM

My friend just got a 30G Video Ipod for 1$ from the internet. So I am doing it too right now. Basically you just need subscribe to a 1$ trial membership for some crap, unsubscribe within 30 days ( to not get charge 17$/month after ) and then refer 5 people who will do the same and then you get your IPOD.

Its not a scam, they make a shit load of money just with people who pay and then never find 5 people, or forget to cancell... plus they get money from the companies you subscribe to. Info here: http://info.freepay.com/pressroom.html

If anyone wants to be nice and sign up under me, I only need 2 more people :) And anyways you have to pay the buck even without the refferal link
my link: http://ipods.freepay.com/?r=25412292

Thanks!

Sanctuary 12-04-2005 11:20 AM

I have the older 40GB model, I may just treat myself to the video one since it's smaller and I'm sure Apple will expand the library.
