Where Were You 9/11/2000 ?

I was watching West Wing late at night in my little flat attached to the office I then had.. they interrupted for a newsflash and when they crossed to New York the 2nd plane hit live while they were showing the live footage as background.

I sat in awe for 5 minutes and then rang everyone I knew because I knew the world as we then knew it had changed forever.

Still sends a chill up my spine.

May the memory of the tragedy long serve as a reminder to us all.

In 2000, I don't remember... but 9/11/2001 found me glued to my television set for nearly 24 hours straight.

Lee 09-11-2005 04:51 AM

We had our television on in the office when the news flash came on. It was the middle of the afternoon and all hell broke loose in London with the City being evacuated. It was devastating watching it unfold :(

Harmon 09-11-2005 04:52 AM

I was getting a blowjob by some chick my sister intriduced me to while her husband was at work. She sucked some pretty good knob too. :2 cents:

Ninja Scripts 09-11-2005 04:52 AM

Asleep on my moms floor while the girlfriend was visiting. They woke me up to watch the news.

wdforty 09-11-2005 04:53 AM

He he, it's actually late here... 10pm.. but thanks for the thought...

Some people think picking up an obvious typo makes them special.

PC thinking is that retarded people are also special, so I just do the math and don;t let it bother me too much...

;-)

Damian_Maxcash 09-11-2005 05:13 AM

I was in NZ and it had all happened by the time I woke up......

Of course the 1st thing I did was start surfing and clicked on CNN - I actually had a pain in my chest when I was reading it.... It was surreal.

Then I phoned everyone I knew all around the world - I told my mum who works in central London to get out and visit relatives down the coast. Bad day.

Was in 23 hour lockdown for 3 weeks caused by a riot, no radios, no newspapers just a CO every hour to keep us updated.

'tis true... I read it somewhere.
I think the book was called "Calender" or something like that, can't remember who wrote it, but the pictures were AWESOME! I liked the "July" chapter the best.

Cut and paste:
I was still asleep and my son called from Clemson to ask me what I thought about it. I turned on the TV, saw what was going on and then immediately told him I was on my way to pick him up! My parents talked me into realizing he was fine there but like everyone else, I spent the day glued to the TV.

My Dad was headed to downtown ATL (he lives in a suburb) when he heard it on the news and turned around and came home. He figured if they were hitting big cities, ATL was going to be on the list.

It's hard to believe it's been 4 years.

Nicky 09-11-2005 06:45 AM

watching CNN

Wow and i thought most people on gfy had no brains.

I watched the whole thing live in person, saw the 2nd plane hit the towers and watch them fall . It has scar'd me for life,So yeah im pretty hard on people who dont get it right since i have experienced this and lost people i knew on 9/11. One of my friends who got out of the building before the 2nd plane hit was walking down the street and the 2nd plane hit and he got hit by parts of the building and will never walk again. And my g/f just went throught the path station under the WTC 15 minutes before it happened. So yeah i think i have a reason to correct him, and if you dont like it Fuck off, watching it on TV is not the same as watching it happen. Now im off to go on the Septmeber 11th memorial motorcycle ride to honor heros ,the FDNY and NYPD which a few of my freinds are and were there when it happened.

I was 30,000 feet up in the air, flying from London to Dallas.
We were about an hour or so flight from NY or the east coast when the planes struck the towers.

The plane made a U-turn, as US airspace got closed off, and we landed in a small town called Gander, Newfoundland, where I sat in the plane on the tarmac for about 7 more hours before being let off. The BBC came on the speakers in the plane, and we learned what happened.

Then I slept in a church, on a church bench, for 4 days, before being flown back to London, then to Copenhagen.

Here's a website about it:

TurboAngel 09-11-2005 07:01 AM

We were driving into NYC, I had a bad feeling so I had to pull off and turn around to head back to NJ. TF wasn't happy at first but then we heard the bad news on the raidio.

It was a bad day for me as we were going up to Canal St to get sunglasses.

:(

I was coming home from my first day at College in the car when I heard of the first plane hitting WTC. As I got home and turned on the tv I saw the second one hit the WTC live. That'll live with me forever that day.

amandaspost 09-11-2005 07:16 AM

I was in school

Young 09-11-2005 07:53 AM

Sleeping in my ex-girlfriends college dorm room skipping class. She came in and woke me up to the news. I'll never forget the feeling I had when she turned on the TV right before the second plane hit.

Realpascal 09-11-2005 07:57 AM

I was in fornt of an ATM, sitting in my car, listening to the radio while my GF was pulling out some cash..
Called off appointments I had, and went home. Watched CNN all day.

Pete-KT 09-11-2005 08:00 AM

I was at the Dealership taking my Lincoln LS to be repaired for the 4th time with the same window problem, when My Brother called me and told me what happened, I quickly got a rental car and headed home just to turn the tv on as the second plane hit the tower, I sat there and watched the tv for 12 hours and skipped all my classes that day

I was waiting for Fencing Class to begin here at the college. I was the assistant teacher but none of our students had come to class that day. One just popped in to tell us what happened and we ran for the nearest TV. Later I went and sat with my mom who was working in the Engineering building. We just sat and cried for a while watching.

nico-t 09-11-2005 08:36 AM

Triple 6 09-11-2005 08:40 AM

i was sleeping all morning. i woke up to hear some crazy messages on the machine, the world trade center is gone, america under attack. Freaked me outttt when i turned on the TV. I fell back asleep a few hours later and got woken up by some low flying fighter jets that was strafing NY/NJ. I thought a plane was gonna be crashing into my bed
