If you are caught with about 10 grams (including the paper it is in...which in my case where 2 ccbill check copies...lol) of weed in your country what do they do to you?

In Israel you have a criminal record...so now I guess I'm a criminal...just like pimpdogg...yay...

In the US anything under 20 grams is a misdemeanor, over 20 grams is a felony possibly with intent to sell. Both will get you a criminal record.

here in BC they'll likely just take it away from you and perhaps give you a fine.. not enough for dealing charges, and the BC Judges don't like the police wasting their time on smaller misdemeanours for MJ since it's ubiquitous here

You get a fine here in Spain, but you've gotta be smoking in the street and basically blow the smoke in a policemans face and say 'smell that, that's fine weed' for them to actually bother though.

umm well 10 grams, assuming they ignored the medical card which they never do they would give me a ticket and take the shit. If it was closer to 3 grams they would just dump the shit out and fuck it up. Twenty eight or over and I suppose I could get into some real trouble.

nada, it is decriminalized now, which means you do not get a record unless you have over a half oz (if i am not mistaken)

only 1 person has gone to jail for GROWING weed in this city in the past year.

the great thing about calgary is you can roll down the street smoking weed, pull up to lights smoking joints, people will look over and not even care, it is a big part of our culture especially in western Canada.

throw all your thoughts about weed out the window when you come to western canada, jocks, nerds, even mentally challeneged people all smoke weed here. kids that i never thought who would touch drugs in their lives were some of the bigger pothers in my highschool.

Here it depends on how you are caught. On the street by a single cop, or two cops. If you have the cash, you pay them off. Probablly cost you 200 to 500$. in a sting?? you sit in jail for 20 years, and not even the US government can save you.

In Victoria, BC they'll basically take it away. If you happen to be in a place where you'd need to drive to get home (like Mt. Tolmie) they'll tow your car for a nominal fee and send you off by cab. You'll be told to have a session with another officer at the station a day or two later who'll patiently explain that what you're doing is wrong. The session will last about 15-20 minutes, and you will feel completely unchanged except for a sense of relief that it's done.

Unless you happen to be a lippy bitch who doesn't want to cooperate, and who instead of just admitting that "yes you caught me" decides to make a stand for her own personal sense of justice. In that case you'll be taken in, strip-searched, printed, processed, and will spend the night in a cold cage, or two nights if over the weekend. You will be fed cold McDonalds. Your friends will be pissed at you for bringing down unnecessary heat, and blame you for being the dumb hahahaha who suggested smoking a) at the top of mt. tolmie, b) with a pipe and c) using fucking MATCHES, which must have lit up the car like goddamn purple flares across the city skyline. They will secretly, or not so secretly, applaud the police for going full monty on your ass and hope that the experience will smarten you the fuck up. It probably won't, though.

OP, for residue. ANY drugs here, is a major issue. And if you look remotely like you might have money, it can get worse. Living here, and drugs dont match.

yeah, my point was that possession charges here are laughable since the police don't really pursue those, so the only way you're likely to get any kind of jail time is if you have enough to be classified as a dealer, or if you happen to piss off the cops when they catch you with it.. but even then, you won't really get in much trouble - at least that's my understanding, I could be wrong the law changes here frequently on that subject :1orglaugh

The real bitch of it would be, if you happened to be someone who'd gotten a new job that required brain work and early mornings so you'd basically given it all up months ago, but ended up being in a car with your girlfriend and a couple of her fuckwit friends. For what it's worth, in THAT scenario the cop will probably pretty much ignore you, particularly if you mention during the session that it's a long fucking walk from Tolmie to Quadra, and that if you intended on having future sex with that girlfriend acting all indignant and storming out would be a bad idea.

An additional bitch would that you'd end up paying the fucking cab fare, but fortunately not the towing charge as that would be your gf's car, and your gf's friends who sorta made the whole scenario happen, so it's her problem. :winkwink:

Apparently you're not from Utah. Marijuana laws and enforcement vary wildy from state to state here. In general, the west coast is pretty relaxed and in the south they might execute you on the spot if they catch you with a dime-bag.

We get a warning the first time and after that it is a fine between 50$ and 500$. Assuming that the amounts are small enough to be for personal use..

The longest punishment that has been awarded in a drug related case in Denmark was 10 years for 10kg of coke..

Amphetamin and Ecstasy and similar drugs are rated similarly to heroin and coke.. maybe a bit milder..

anything less than those amounts are fined..

I'm not mormon and have never been to Utah. My observations are from living in the south, and yes I have been arrested for possession of 1.8 grams.

I heard in LA if ya have a medical marijuana card, the cops will not take you to jail however they will still write you a ticket, i'm not positive about this but this is the word..
