The Master Cleanser Diet - I'm starting tomorrow
I know people who lost ~ 10-20 pounds in just 2 weeks. Not to mention the high energy levels they have afterwards - among many other improvements.
I'm following the original book - http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...43021?v=glance Read about it here: http://curezone.com/cleanse/bowel/master_cleanse.asp "The Master Cleanser diet/fast otherwise known as the lemonade diet (lemonade fast) has been around close to 50 years. It's the easiest way to give a rest to your digestive organs, and, together with salt water flush, to achieve effective cleansing of your bowel, your kidneys, your liver and your whole body. You can feel good and get rid of what ails you. This diet has been used for almost every health problem with great success..." What the hell, only 10 days. Will report back. 180lbs... hoping to hit at least 165 by mid-July Anyone tried it? |
is it safe?
|
Supposed to be very safe. They even give you exact instructions what to do and eat right after the 10 days fast... I heard many many success stories and not even one bad opinion. Let's see :)
|
ACK!
No thanks. Chugging salt water isn't my idea of a good time. |

Good luck, man! Dieting is tough for a lot of people, but stick with it and you will be fine. My parents started the atkins diet about 4 months ago and are doing great.
|
I know of a couple of ladies that have done master cleanse as a quick way to lose weight before their weddings.
|
interesting. Good luck. Don't get run down.
|
I have a good diet for everyone, it's got 2 easy steps.
1-EAT LESS! 2-MOVE MORE! Been working wonders for me. :thumbsup |

I just went out and bought a carmel apple cheesecake.
Gonne get medieval on it in about 2 mins... |
if you drink green tea 3-5 times a day, you'll get the same effect.
i mix brewed green tea (cooled down) with iced tea and drink that all day. it will clean out your system the first 2 days & also.. -give you energy (its naturally caffienated) -keeps your system clean -boosts your metabolism -satisfys your hunger (your less hungry) $3 bucks for for like a box of 100 or something. you'll lose weight & be healthy..naturally. |
This sounds more like a way to cleanse your colon rather than a diet. I'm all for a good cleansing, but this doesn't sound like a good way to diet.
|
If anybody has any recommendations for cleansing diets or books on cleansing diets for the purpose of CLEANSING and not for weight loss, I'd love to hear them.
|
Just drink a glass of sand and get a colonic and you'll be great.

Ask at a pharmacy for it, or at least describe it to the pharmacist.. they should have something like it where you are. |

if you are concerned about cleaning your digestive tract, please consider the following: when you are being prepped for surgery on your colon, imagine how clean it must be. the inside of your body is basically sterile with the exception of the contents of your digestive tract and appendix. your colon has to be absolutely clean of not only undigested food... but bacteria in general. http://www.markfuscomd.com/bowel_prep.htm you can buy it in any drug store. its what any surgeon will have you drink to prep for surgery. you can drink the whole thing. drink as much water as you can. then in a few hours its over... after you are finished, you could serve dinner to your own mom on your colon. http://www.markfuscomd.com/Images/fleet-po.jpg |

I haven't tried it yet, but I'm quite convin ced with how my friends told me about its effectivity.
|
Found the book online.. read it at
http://www.geocities.co.jp/Beautycar..._cleanser.html Just came back from Wild Oats.. bought all the things it requires (sea salt, maple syrup, laxative tea, lemons)... even had my "last meal" ;) |

Looks unsafe, and you'll be crapping your guts out for sure
|
Good luck with that. Don't forget to watch what you eat after you lose all of that water weight and impacted feces from your colon as a result of that diet.
|
Thanks.
Yeah there's a whole section guiding you how to break the diet |

oooohhh toxins, gotta watch out for toxins! ahahaha anyone here ever take biology?
|
FYI - lemonade would be considered a natural diuretic and consequently, the low calorie diet combined with a diuretic would result in significant weight loss, but it would all be water weight (some subcutaneous but mostly intramuscular, which will make you look flat and flabby), which you would promptly gain back as soon as you stopped the diet.
Weight loss is easy: calories in < calories expended. Eat less or exercise more (preferably a combination of both). No other way around it. |

"organic" is one of my favorites. a billion dollar business based on a word that has no legal definition in the US (with the single exception of how it applies to pork i believe), no labeling requirements/standards/explanations and can be put on absolutely everything and sold for more to hippies who "get it". :1orglaugh |

organic food, food raised without chemicals and processed without additives. Under standards adopted by the U.S. Agriculture Dept. (USDA) in 2000 and fully effective in 2002, synthetic fertilizers and pesticides and antibiotics may not be used in raising organic foods, and the use of irradiation, biotechnology, and sewer-sludge fertilizer is also banned. Food whose ingredients are at least 95% organic by weight may carry the ?USDA ORGANIC? label; products containing only organic ingredients are labeled 100% organic. The government is after you! lol |

i just remembered what i was arguing with my wife about. (had to do some quick searching before i was forced to apologize) :) the law "National Organic Foods Act" describes requirements for foods that can be labeled as "USDA ORGANIC" by designated inspectors representing the government - but "organic" foods in stores dont carry that label. There is no limit on the use of the word organic on foods. if you go into a big store like Whole Foods - every apple, pea and almost all foods say "organic", "organically produced" etc.... nothing is certified as "USDA ORGANIC" and the point is that everyone is free to use the word "organic" whenever, and where ever they want to and it has no real meaning. if i recall,... there are only specific laws about the use of the word "organic" when it applies to labeling pork. this is how hippies are taken advantage of in stores. |

i frequently shop at Whole Foods (east side of Seattle) and i have made it a point to look for this label. i have never seen it. i am not saying that it does not exist in the store on some products, i am just saying that it is not found on what i believe to be the majority of products in the store. i did however see "organic", "organically grown", "organically produced" etc. plastered all over everything with no government label. for example... i looked over all the fruit and vegetables carefully with my wife after we had this discussion and we both agreed that there was no government label on anything we saw. Fruit for example, just had a small sticker saying "organic". my only point was that everyone at the end of the day is free to use the word organic and it does not necessarily have to mean anything. its not a guarantee of how it was produced, grown or processed and there are no laws (federal or state as far as i read) governing/restricting its use. |
I remember reading not too long ago that they are allowed to put on the packaging that the product is "made with organic ingredients" as long as the product contains at least 70% organic ingredients. Does anybody know if there's any truth to that?
|
Hmm the lemonade mix is kind of disgusting (I hate maple syrup), but people say you get used to it and learn to like it after the third day or so. I've had 2 so far today, and they say you need between 6 to 12 cups a day. I'll try to hit 10
|
good luck, you can do it
|
Thanks. I don't think it will be so difficult.. we'll see :)
