Since we are all (most of us) ranting and raving in agreement about how much .xxx sucks, I am a bit shocked to see a banner add on this site for xxxregistry.org telling me I can pre-register my .xxx domain name.

Do the people running this site feel comfortable making money from .xxx in this way?

If I came late to the party and already missed this discussion, sorry - please point me to the link, I'd love to read what was said.

I thought the same thing. But if I could buy them now, I don't believe in the .xxx, but I would get mine now.

I would hope more people would think twice before supporting .xxx in ANY way. We need some sort of Solidarity to get some muscle here. I won't be buying any .xxx extensions or anything else that has to do with the domain.

An adult based extention would be bad if we have to match the type of site to the domain.

I.E
All us based sites need a .us domain, all information based sites need .info ....etc

Yeah -- it's one thing to be forced onto .XXX -- which would make a "ghetto" of Adult, and expose us to being "cut-off" from the Legitimate Internet at any moment.

But, the truth is, it looks like .XXX is going to at least exist -- that doesn't bother me, so long as nobody is telling me I have to go live there.

I think we had to say "BAD, BAD, BAD .XXX" to defeat a compulsory evacuation of Adult to that TLD. But, remove that threat, and what's left but some form of opportunity, which you mau decide is attractive to you or not.
