OMGs...look what came in the house tonight!
I had the door cracked open so that my husband and daughter could get back in. I heard them coming so I looked over at the door and this li tle baby came walking in, scared, shivering and dehydrated. Not sure how old it is, but it only weighs about 4 oz. or so....

cute little thing, you should keep it as a pet! would be like a cat that can hang upside down on things.

here's an info page for you... has a "what to do with an orphaned baby opossum" section ;)

Thanks for the links :)
|
get rid of it before it scratches you.. they are all infectet with germs... do NOT get attached to it.. Killing it would be the best for all of you...
|
Oppossum are so freaking mean and nasty when they mature -- don't get too attached :2 cents:

Awww, widdle baby 'possum, how cute. :)
Us kids used to raise newborn 'pussums and 'coons on the farm, they make great pets if handled frequently and lovingly (looks like you guys have that covered, hehe). Give it a nice warm sterile bath (mild soap and salt) and get a rabbit cage, ferret pellets make great food for them. :thumbsup edit: typo |

I'm not planning on keeping her as a pet really (but who knows), we just want to get her to where she is healthy and can make it on her own...it's the right thing to do :) Ferret pellets...just saw those at the store:) In Mexico it's hard to get the things we could in the US..but since we were ranchers for so long, my husband is good with vet work, so he will do the sub q rehydration...if we can find the lactated ringers :) |
