CSS Stylesheet Generator

A few of my clients have asked for this so I decided to code one. Figured someone else here may find it handy.

Select font, size, color, bold/underline variations for your default text, link color, and hover, then generate the CSS stylesheet.

cool, now all you need to do is make one that generates the coding for layouts using floats, cross browser optimization too. :winkwink:

tenderobject 05-01-2005 11:00 PM

haha, there'll be upgrades to this one I'm sure :)

As far as I know the image border tags shouldn't mess up the layout, took me a while before I realized FireFox doesn't take lightly to CSS mistakes that IE did.

Brujah 05-01-2005 11:04 PM

Nice, what do you code it in ?

haha, well as far as layout positioning is concerned.. .IE is a fucking horrible mess while FF/NS are great.

i thought you had one more example of a video clip humor site?

Dynamix 05-02-2005 01:01 AM

Here's another app I coded a long while ago for a client, this I'm sure will be useful to a few of you.

The program's called Domain Scour and basically it searches the DirectNIC database for domains matching your search query(ies), then sifts through and delivers only .COM's, optionally those without hyphens, and within a specified length.

That's www.fliqs.com - not a blog format though. I coded the PHP and designed the layout.

Hey Dynamix....
If I try and run the CSSGen32.exe I get:

Component 'COMDLG32.OCX' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid

i'm running windows 2000 on my pc, no XP in the house...
I need those runtime files????

Any others? Let me know.

Lester 05-02-2005 07:10 AM

Thanks for the link......

Dumb question maybe....
what do I do with those files.....
plop them into a directory somewhere?????

All of them??
or just the one referenced in my case??

vicki 05-02-2005 07:11 AM

I get the same with the scour exe
"Component 'MSWINSCK.OCX' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid"

what exactly do we need to do with the runtime files to make it work .. just add them to the directory? (I guess you can see why I'm not a programmer lol)

BBWTori 05-02-2005 07:16 AM

wow thanks great!

The Winsock control is only necessary for the DomainScour program, Common Dialog for both. Download all files named CMDLG32.* to your SYSTEM folder (X:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32 on WinXP systems, X:\WINNT\SYSTEM32 usually on WinNT systems, X:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\ on older Win systems).

Dynamix 05-02-2005 11:36 AM

PS: The software MAY have issues running on NT, and although I don't believe so in this case, sometimes the dependencies are incompatible and thus won't run properly even when downloaded to the System folder.

Very nice work :thumbsup

iwantchixx 05-02-2005 12:19 PM

Interesting software. Thanks :)

However let me make a few suggestions. Since most people use more than one text style within a page would it be possible for you to have lets say 10 text syle fields with border options on the text (yes those actually come in handy), maybe 3 image border fields, table style fields and even textarea style fields that supports adding background image?

I think that would make for a really sweet css generator.

crockett 05-02-2005 12:20 PM

nice tool

Nysus 05-02-2005 12:48 PM

Missing 'TABCTL32.OCX' - Not sure where I'd put it though....

So did you code that CSS thing instead of getting my order done? :P

Matt

Nysus 05-02-2005 01:08 PM

Dynamix - Since you're not responding to your phone or ICQ...

April 24th you said: "oki cool, I'll get at you in a day or two with those 25"

I pre-paid for the work and haven't heard from you since, but see you posting on here.

It's really not cool, and not good to have clients coming back.

7 days... should I chargeback?

Matt
