Sounds like a great job, too bad I'm in Canada

There's a couple people here I know qualified to do that... dunno if they want to stop making their own bank to work for someone else though... even if it is Playboy.

where did he say anything about the salary and working hourS? ? working 8 hours a day 5 days a week for playboy at $20k a month doens't seem like a bad deal to me , you would have normal office hours , great pay and still some time to do your own thing |
Save some money.. In my opinion unless you are going trying to slaughter the SE market you don't need a wiz SEO guy to run things. Contract out work for a couple of months every 6 months should do the trick.

It is a permanent position. I realize there are plenty of people who could make more money on their own, but clearly there are other benefits to working full time for a large public company. That is not to say that money isn't important, but it certainly isn't the only consideration. That being said, I am not sure what the average SEO who works for themselves makes, but the salary here would be competitive. |

From the job description I get the impression they're mostly looking for an organic seo. Some references were made to paid placements but not very much. WG |

I of course know the benefits to having a degree as a backup, just stating the above is more fun and rewarding... Matt |

WOW. After actually reading through Primary Responsibilities.. I hope you'd be paying $200-$300k, otherwise you're not going to get anyone.
Oh, I bumped into a Playboy bunny at my gym today... a friend who I workout with who works with her pointed her to me.. don't know her name though.. heh. Matt |

Teach them how to do proper SEO... Is there a length to this job or after hired for a year, and everyone is taught things.. you no longer need them? Not assuming that is how Playboy does business, I'd hope not.. Just examining your main sites, they're horribly under SEO'd.. I can do all of the above, but currently I'm doing my own projects, so well, in a year if you still haven't gotten your SEO game down then I'll contact you and make an offer. :) Matt |
$5,000 now and $595,000 when its done. top 10 garaunteed.

As for our main sites, I agree that they are horribly "under-SEO'd". We just don't have the resources to put someone on this full time. Hence the posting... |
anyone who thinks this job is a $200k/year salaried position is kidding themselves. To a large company this is a $50k/year position (tops), **possibly** with the option of commission on top of that. But i would even say you're looking at $36k/year + commission. Remember, big companies want(/need) you to earn 10x your salary/year to make it worthwhile.
|
This would actually be a fun job to have...
Can you email me or ICQ me details of pay and such? ICQ 129060301 or [email protected] - Just curious... and relocation required, in-house, yes? Matt |

It sounds like you need a very skilled Webmaster that knows his way around the SE?s. Anyone that contacts you that says they are SEO skilled for $60k a year is pulling your chain. You just hired a person to learn your dime.
I?m not an SEO guy, not like WG at least, and we pull down $60k from the SE?s every 3 or 4 months on top of running our program. We have designers and teaching them SEO work is pointless. They set everything up for the SEO work to be done, which saved me 3 minutes of work. I also have a nice lady on staff with a Bachelor in Retail Marketing and double masters in Marketing and E Marketing. Her input for the company is priceless; her input for SE?s is pointless. |
Didn't want to wreck the post.. So I'm giving it a friendly bump.
