ccbill: Oliver's Money - are you set to 1% payout?

I discovered earlier today that I was set to 1% payout, and no rebills. So far I've found two other webmasters with the same settings.

Check your affiliate stats (click on the "Tools" tab) to see if they've done it to you as well...

rowan 12-23-2004 07:02 AM

Make that 6 other webmasters who also have the same 1% setting...

Has this program closed down?

I don't think Oliver would do it on purpose.

He probably didn't fix it when CCbill had switched to the new stats. (there was a glitch)

tranza 12-23-2004 08:04 AM

If you guys didn't noticed it before you probably weren't promoting them anyway... So that's not that bad...

Still fucked up, but not that bad....

xclusive 12-23-2004 08:08 AM

Damn that sucks I had them in my list of sites to sign up for glad I didn't get too them yet...

Slick 12-23-2004 08:11 AM

Damn, Glyn used to be a great guy. I could never see him doing that intentionally, but you'd think that if the "glitch" somehow cut the rev-share percentage to 1% and 99% and rebills were stopped, that should've increased his income DRASTICALLY to the point where he'd wonder where all of the extra income was coming from, thus the problem should have been solved immediately.

BVF 12-23-2004 08:13 AM

my program has always been set to 50% and will CONTINUE to be there...no "glitches" whatsoever.

See sig.

swedguy 12-23-2004 08:29 AM

Same 1% for me :(

I've done business with Glynn since he started online..and know him personally. He runs a tight, honest program.I wish every program I ever worked with since 1998 was as good as his.

Glyn told me about this a while ago by himself and fixed the bug.
My payouts are like normal. If you don't think you can trust Glyn the world is lost....

arg 12-23-2004 10:41 AM

While this seem like the program's fault, I think ccBill bears some responsibility for their negligence in informing affiliates of commission changes. They could just send a simple e-mail message stating what changes are made, when they're made. It's almost like they try and make themselves as attractive to scammers as possible, although if that were really true I suppose they'd allow commissions to be set all the way to 0%, instead 1%.

"Oliver" does note on his site:

"11/22/04 We have noticed some problems with changes to the payout percentage on some webmasters accounts. If you notice any change please contact us right away. It's an easy fix and you will not lose any commisions on sales."

Though if they really wanted to fix the problem, I'd think they could manually check their affiliates' account settings themselves...whatever the easy fix is if they were contacted, would presumably be a similarly easy fix if they weren't contacted. Sounds like maybe an unintentional error which was intentionally not addressed well.

PerfectionGirls 12-23-2004 10:42 AM

Processors do have reporting issues when it comes to these items from time to time. Before you hang a sponsor out to dry make sure you get all the facts first. I know of 5 other sponsors that had the same exact issue a year ago and of course, the sponsor was nailed for "stealing" and the reporting error was called bullshit. Here is just a couple other examples (several more seem to be showing up also now) of reporting errors that could cost program owners their company and reputation. Its interesting that its the same processor and same issue. ;)

I LOVE CCbill and will always back them up. But, with the TONS of info they pour through their system on a daily basis its pretty easy to see how a reporting error may occur from time to time dispite their best efforts to make sure things run perfect. It happens. I HIGHLY doubt Donovan P or Oliver's went in and changed there payouts only to fuck themselfs in the ass.

Check your stats and get with your sponsors if you think something is wrong. We cant see what is being reported in your affiliate admin, we can only see what are settings are in the webmaster admin. Its a totally different interface and may not always reflect the same information. Reporting differences between the two interfaces will occur.

arg 12-23-2004 10:47 AM

Hm, Oliver and Perfect slipped in. If there's no way for a program administrator to list their affiliates or see what they're paying their affiliates, I'm surprised, but I retract what I said, this would be almost entirely ccBill's fault.

StuBradley 12-23-2004 10:59 AM

Some affiliates just come right out and say they're assholes! Here is a direct quote from AbbyWinters webmaster page:

---------------------------

"...While we're interested in growing our site, we're not going to do the things many affiliates demand. We'd love to have you on board, but our site is doing just fine without you.

Here's what we offer to you as an affiliate:
50% on initial subscription
No rebills
It's that simple. This might be your cue to say "pffft! no fucking way, dude!", and that's fine - our program is not for you."

--------------------------

Nice way to treat the people who make you money, dipfuck! :thumbsup
