What is the general concensus?

the tabbed browsing is just much better than anything else out there, its has also never been owned.

IE for me all the way.......

Mac/Safari... tabbed browsing, popup blocker, faster then IE... IE for PC is much better then the mac version!

Why is Firefox so much better than IE? (For those that used both)

I found 114 spyware ect crap on of the other users windows logins who are using IE

Easy to customize, has different themes so you can give your browser the look you want.

There's even an FTP extension on it.

Those guys have been thinking of everything.

It's also slightly faster for browsing and the Homeland Security Department has said that Mozilla based browser (such as Firefox) are safer.

It's free and I'd recommend that anyone who hasn't tried it just test it out.

The one argument against it, if there where one is that it takes more ram. But it's nothing that will kill a decent machine.

Good rundown on why Firefox is better. But you forgot, in my opinion one of the biggest reasons it's better: extensions. You can install, even write, extensions that do practically anything which makes Firefox 100% customizable. Firefox all the way!!! :thumbsup

Downloading now. I don't like Firefox much - being using K-Meleon for years.

Mo's Firefox (0.8) - rock solid and does not fail me (with the exception of the crash happy release 1.0).

Just downloaded it. I used to use it when it was called MyIE2, but have since switched to Firefox. Maybe I'll start using Maxthon again though; I really do like it.

Crashes every 10 min, freezes, it's 2 times slower than K-Meleon, etc
I've heard good things about Maxthon (ex myIE2) and I'm going to give it a try.

IE, never use anything else.

I use my browser 7hours/day and I've been using Mozilla/Firebird/Firefox since Mozilla RC1 and it hasn't crashed since Mozilla 1.0 final.

In fact, I've never ever had a severe system crash since Windows 2000.

You must have a shitty machine with shitty drivers and shitty configuration.

I use mozilla 90% of the time. There is the odd site it doesn't agree with and I am forced to pull out IE but only when necessary.

I'm not tlaking about system crash, I'm talking about Firefox crashing every ten nimutes. If you use your browser 7 hours a day to surf GFY you'll have no problems at all with Firefox, but when you use it to get some work done (opening 20 tabs at the same time, changing options when a page loads etc), you my friend are for big surprise. Do yourself a favour, download K-Meleon, and then we'll talk again.

I know, I was just saying.

I don't surf all day on GFY and I am a tab whore. Usual setup: 6 Firefox windows, each with around 5 tabs. Sometimes upto 40 tabs when I'm going through pics using Linky extension (http://linky.mozdev.org/)

I've used K-Meleon before, but it is a pretty much dead project. Last official release (v0.8.2) was in 2003!
