If you use your browser 7 hours a day to surf GFY you'll have no problems at all with Firefox, but when you use it to get some work done (opening 20 tabs at the same time, changing options when a page loads etc), you my friend are for big surprise. Do yourself a favour, download K-Meleon, and then we'll talk again.

I have used Firefox for some pretty heavy duty work. I even once took it for a spin and opened 100 tabs at the same time. ONE HUNDRED, changing options and whatnot!! And I haven't had any hiccups.

I run scripts which automatically open a browser with 20 tabs, type the
url's in the address bar, load the pages etc. I run the scripts for 12 hours straight, and Firefox crashes at least 5 times more often than K-Meleon. I guess it all depends on what you're using your browser for. I'll test Maxthon tomorrow and see how it compares :)

I don't get all the hub bub over tabbed browsing. I don't like it. Of course it hasn't been owned because no one was using it. Trust me when FireFox get a sizeable amount of the browser market hackers wil created exploits for it. Tried using it yesterday and found out the google toolbar simulator no longer functions on the new version, and I can't use the ESPN toolbar with FireFox either, so FireFox is really useless to me.

I use both

Firefox on my main pc, but the latest major release crashes immediately on my laptop :( The pre-release version worked fine, but the final release isn't compatible with something in there. It works great on my PC, though.

There are several skinning programs for IE. NEXT.

There's even an FTP extension on it.

Those guys have been thinking of everything.

I've yet to see one single compelling reason to use FF as my main browser that I can't get with IE. Plus, the average internet site is designed for IE and after awhile this becomes obvious when using Mozilla/FF.

It's also slightly faster for browsing and the Homeland Security Department has said that Mozilla based browser (such as Firefox) are safer.
And I suppose you ran out and bought duck tape and plastic when they told you to.
