Update: Chihuahua Puppies (pics)

If anyone remembers, I posted pics a few weeks ago of my newborn Chihuahua puppies. I thought I'd share some new pictures before we let them go.

I'm extremely sad to have to let them go, you fall in love with these little guys so damn fast :( They all sleep with me at night and snuggle right in... but it's time I let them go.

Puppy #4

We didn't name them simply because that causes too much attachment :(

I just know I'm going to cry my eyes out when I have to watch them leave our home with their new owner...

You can see more pics of them at http://www.cutek9.com/pups/

Cute pups. I love the Chihuahua breed, specially the Toy sub-breed.

The good thing about Chihuahuas is that they look like little puppies thier entire lives since they only get to about 4 - 5 lbs. So they remain chick magnets forever :Graucho

How old is that pup? Looks too young to be away from it's mother. They should be a minimum of 10 or more weeks old.

Gynecologist 10-19-2004 06:44 PM

You are selling 4 pups? Are you keeping at least one from the litter?

Ya he was about a week old there. He is still with the mother, I'll pick him up in 3 weeks (he'll be 12 weeks old by then).

This is him now:

Some of them can be pricey. The grandfather of these pups cost us $1,200 bucks. The grandmother was pricey too, she has 40 champions in her bloodline (she is a tri-color like pup #4). The mother comes from a showline and the father is the son of the $1,200 Chi.

As for keeping one, I would LOVE to....but we have SEVEN Chi's now and simply can't keep anymore. Chi's are loving, they need human contact...they love nothing better than snuggling with you 24/7. My chair simply does not have room for another one.

$1200 for the grandfather? Not to bad. I just paid $1175 for Angel (the yorkie I just showed you).

I plan on breeding her though, with my male yorkie. My male is only 4 pounds and Angel is only 3 pounds. They are both fairly small. As horney as my male yorkie is, I bet she'll be pregnant in a matter of weeks lol

My mother loves those.. she had one that died a while ago... how much and where are you located?

pornguy 10-19-2004 06:56 PM

The chi's are great at judging people, and they will protect anything that belongs to you.

Just too bad it would take a 1000 of them to actually hurt someone trying to steal from you?

Make sure your little Yorkie is at least 2 years old before you breed her for the first time. Also, not sure about Yorkies but any dog that is 4lbs or under can have a very difficult time birthing. Many can't pass the head and hence need a c-section which is dangerous for the mom and can be very expensive. The younger they are when they have their first litter the more chance of problems. This is the first litter we had without having to have vet assistance. However mom ran into problems 12 hours after birth which required vet assistance (400 bucks) and a special diet, vitamins etc. Breeding sounds wonderful...and it is...but it has been heartbreaking on many occasions. This is the second litter for the mom, she went into premature labor with her first and I had to deliver 2 dead puppies.

No, none are sold right now. We just made the webpage this evening. They will be ready to go in about 2 weeks so it is time to find them homes.

Small dogs usually do very well with larger dogs. We had 2 goldens and they did just fine with the Chi's. In fact, the Chi's rules the roost, they were boss.

She is a heartbreaker. When she sees you she runs over and wags her tail so hard she almost falls over!

Lonny 10-19-2004 07:13 PM

puppy #4 would be my pick.

OMG That just made up my mind for sure. I am in total love with my golden and I think she needs a friend. I would get another golden, but ugh the dog hair kills me!!! THanks for the help!

wyldblyss 10-19-2004 07:29 PM

As I said, the Chi's rule the roost. Notice how the Goldens have to share a bowl of food because the Chi decided to take one of their bowls for himself. :1orglaugh
