We had a Chihuahua when I was kid, her name was ChaCha and she looked a lot like #1. She was my mom's baby, even sat outside the bathroom door when mom went in. She lived to be an old old lady but had to be put down a couple of years ago :(

Make sure your little Yorkie is at least 2 years old before you breed her for the first time. Also, not sure about Yorkies but any dog that is 4lbs or under can have a very difficult time birthing. Many can't pass the head and hence need a c-section which is dangerous for the mom and can be very expensive. The younger they are when they have their first litter the more chance of problems. This is the first litter we had without having to have vet assistance. However mom ran into problems 12 hours after birth which required vet assistance (400 bucks) and a special diet, vitamins etc. Breeding sounds wonderful...and it is...but it has been heartbreaking on many occasions. This is the second litter for the mom, she went into premature labor with her first and I had to deliver 2 dead puppies.
Oh that's horrible. Is she ok now? I hate hearing stuff like that. Im a big animal lover, and when I hear things about them being hurt or in pain, it really gets to me.

Right now they are too young to breed. I agree. Prince is only 6 months old and Angel is only 4 months old. They both have some growing to do.

A friend of mine is a breeder as well. She's explained the ups and downs, as well as the 3am emergency vet calls. Her english bulldog was having puppies, and went into labor in the middle of the night. She wasnt able to birth them herself and needed a c-section. She was fine, but 3 of the 11 pupies died. Thats a large litter to be birthing in my opinion.
