smoking pot. My husband, too. Someone called DCF and they showed up today with a deputy. Thank God I have my kids, and the cop didn't take any of us in for possession, though my husband did get a citation for possession under 20g and has to go to court. We'll be under state supervision with home visits and urinalysis, and hubby will probably get probation and get UAs there, too, but we are cooperating completely. Our kids are soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo..... worth it. Yeah, I know, we shouldn't have done it in the first place. True, but we did, and now we are accepting the consequences of our choices. Still, something in me finds it disturbing that it is legal for us to get jackhammer drunk but not stoned. Stoned people are way more calm and non-violent than drunk people, so which would you prefer YOUR parents to be? lol But whatever hoops they set up, I'll jump through like a kangaroo to keep my four awesome kids.
So anyway.....where is it legal? We're wating to move away from hurricane Alley, anyway, lol

that sucks.. fucking cops should spend there time locking up killers and rapists

We have seriously relaxed our laws here in UK over pot, the police dont want to waste their time dealing with people who just want to smoke a lil weed.
But saying that I quit 10 years ago anyway :)

It's good that you have some motivation (although it's forced) to quit. it's not a great habbit to keep anyhow. trust me, your kids won't grow up liking the fact that their parents are potheads, my gf's parents are both big potheads and her n' her sisters hate it.

I hear ya, but we tried to make the best of it and turn it into an opportunity to be an example for our kids. We made a mistake, and we're taking responsibility for it. We were honest with the boys, who are 9 & 10, because they knew anyway, according to the social worker and cop. We told them that we did smoke pot, and explained the trouble it did get us in, and how bad it could have been, and told them how we are choosing to put our family first from now on, the way we should have in the first place. Hopefully it will deter them from making the same mistakes, AND show them how to handle a situation where you get busted doing something wrong.

Don't pass judgement on me...you don't know me. My kids are cared for better than a lot of children. We don't have much, but they have food, clothes, a warm bed, and a lot of love. We did make a shitty decision, and we ARE FACING IT, and fixing it, so shut the fuck up. Wait til you make a mistake with your kids...we ALL do it. What if you spank your a little to hard and it leaves a mark, or you lose your kid in a store for a few minutes....should you lose your kids over that mistake when you are willing and happy to recify the situation? Who really suffers more then? The kids!!!!!
Yeah, I did fuck up. And I'm adult enough to admit it, and change it, so if you feel you have to knock somebody to feel superior, go knock somebody else. I've been knocked enough today.
Edit: BTW, we kept it in a locked safe, and never did it in front of them. I know it doesn't make a difference, legally....I just wanted it noted that we weren't passing it around in front of them. It was always a late night, after the kids were in bed thing.

Nowhere in the US is it "legal". Some states and cities have passed laws making it legal for medicinal use (although, it's still a federal crime) and some cities have made it lowest priority for cops, but again... still illegal.

Did I miss the part where they learned about your use? Who turned you into DCF?

I agree that it should be legal if drinking is legal. Your just as likely to do something damaging when you're drinking.. even more so because pot makes you a little lazy. :1orglaugh

I don't agree with smoking around the kids at all but as long as they are sleeping and aren't in any harm then I guess it would be o.k sometimes.

I personally wouldn't choose to do that but then again, I don't smoke.

i don't smoke pot but i have a criminology degree and i believe pot SHOULD be legal - it's a LOT better than booze.
