I'm not going myself but I've heard rumors that a number of webmasters are hoping to get stuck in Texas and plan on having their own party there!

I've been in Florida for 10 years now, and I've seen these forecasts so many times where they say its going to hit and then it changes again.

Plus these wide forecasts have huge variations of wind speed within the yellow zone.

It still could be far enough west of the southeast side of Florida that it will just be extra windy here and nothing more.

A lot of time these forecasters are completely off the mark.

I am trying to get packed right now. I hate this. I am very indecisive.

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't the backside of the Cane the sunny side?

That is when you are supposed to surf, the backside because of the glass effect. :)

Nader 08-10-2004 08:49 PM

wow good luck with that! :(

Yes, however, if Charley does become a hurricane and hits directly here, I'm not leaving my 9 year old son with my ex-wife cause her house is right on the waterfront in Boca, and everyone living on the water goes under mandatory evacuation order so that would be a problem till it clears.

cosis 08-10-2004 08:55 PM

party time!!!!!!!!

Gotcha. I wouldn't be leaving him there, either. :thumbsup

Grab some blankets while you are at it.

A hurricane would really be a blow to the event.:2 cents:

Pun intended?

Blankets?? Nah. Just make sure that someone saves the alcohol from certain death. Also, do be sure that there are bathrooms available. :glugglug

Well Elli, personally I think less is more. And, if it gets too chilly you can always wear my jacket, it still has my Shemp pin on it. Of course I'll be wearing the jacket too :Graucho

Here's a good shockwave format tracking map. You click the storm icon and it will show you its history and real-time path.
