He is an unexpected choice although I think the variety of roles he has played indicates he may be able to do this well.

go eric! that guy can actually act, i think he would be a great james bond. the best thing about bana is that he isnt a wanker and is just like a normal guy.

I am sure they will give him a shave and clean up, along with a bit of markup and he will look less like a wog. Good actor, don't know about being James Bond though. They should of kept it in house, with another Briton.

he was a comedian on a very popular skit show here in Oz wayyyy back when... (the 80's i think)
then he played Chopper .. then The Hulk.. he also starred in some war movie and was a lead character in Troy
he's all over the place - seems every big movie lately stars him

I'm gonna bet that this guy get's one shot too.

I think clive owen was the best choice, didnt expect Eric Bana, but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for now based on Troy and Black Hawk Down, certainly not based on the craptastic boo-hoo crybaby he was in the Hulk.

I have seen all of his movies and think he shows an amazing ability to adapt to many different roles. He also used to be one of Australia's leading comedians and feature in a national comedy show. Bana left the show to write, produce and star in his own series entitled Eric. This was soon followed by a weekly special, first called Eric, then The Eric Ban Show Live in 1997
