Bye-Bye Stern

I listen to stern every morning to start my day... that fucker makes me laugh.... Gonna be sad to see him go...

SUCKAFATCOCK 06-24-2004 07:59 AM

the FCC is just so bad on these things. If they don't like whats on why don't they just change the fucking channel. There are probably 20 easy listening channels for every far out talk personality like Stern. CHANGE THE FUCKING CHANNEL

99-1 vote in favor of this newest act. What a bunch of fucking communist we have in office right now.

I don't listen 2 Stern so fuck him.

Mutt 06-24-2004 08:08 AM

i can't believe this is happening in the United States of America - absolutely ludicrous that an unchecked government agency, a puppet of the Administration, can push a show off the airwaves that is listened to by as many as 20 million Americans. All the standards regarding indecency and obscenity are based rightly around the concept of 'community standards' - the people should decide what is indecent. I do believe that when 20 million people listen to somebody of their own free will that it's overwhelming proof that Stern is within the community standards.

This would not have happened under a Democratic president. It wouldn't have happened under a Bob Dole administration. Only Bush and Ashhahahahaha. Keep fucking Jesus out of the fucking Whitehouse.

A sad sad fucking day in America.

Howard is claiming when Bush signs this bill he will do nothing but play records until his contract is up in 15 months. I'm hoping he just does 4 hours a day of relentless Bush bashing and it's enough to tip the scales in favor of Kerry in November. His show has mostly become that in the last few months, it's pissing off alot of people who wants to hear fart and dick jokes and asses spanked.

For sure. I'm not much of a John Kerry fan but I'd vote for just about any other reasonable candidate at the moment. What was so wrong with John Mccain when he was competing for the GOP spot that we didn't take him over Bush?

wvuatl 06-24-2004 08:11 AM

when is he going and why? i live in the stern-free zone for Atlanta so I can't listen

ChewbaCreative 06-24-2004 08:11 AM

Yes but Stern is at least funny... the Regular Guys were really those most un-funny people I've heard on the radio, glad to see them go however it happened!!

The only think I can listen to in ATL is 790 these days and I'm no meathead jock.

Your comment just shows your stupidity. It doesn't matter if you listen or not.... freedoms are being infringed upon... today stern... tomorrow... the internet and satalite....

You know they are already tryiing to regulate the internet?..... right? If that happens... what do you think it is going to do to the adult business? or any other business where you are able to express your opinions. Hell, look at all the shit that is said here on gfy... what if they tagerted GFY next? Would you get upset then?

It is all a matter of being able to chose what you want to hear or see... I am an adult, I pay taxes, I deserve to listen to what I want without having to have it censored. I mean shit.. this is stern... there is nothing wrong with his show... nothing worse than any daytime soap opera or what you see or hear on the talk shows like oprah.... Hell, Stern was fined for saying something that was repeated on oprah... he was fined... she was not.

Selective censorship. God Bless America!

Yeah they werent that great, but they were the only thing keeping the station they worked for alive. The level of talent involved is not the issue though, its the freedom to express it that is being supressed.

he's already been kicked out of 6 big American cities because Clear Channel which is the largest radio company in the U.S. bent over and took it straight up the ass from the FCC as a favor to the Bush Administration. Clear Channel has made million and millions, maybe hundreds of millions of dollars of the off the Howard Stern Show. That will tell you how fucking scared these giant broadcasting companies are of Bush and the FCC. It's an embarassment. This has happened in an amazingly short period of time, all touched off by Janet Jackson's exposed breast during the halftime show at the Super Bowl. The religious right seized the opportunity and turned it to their own advantage believing they now had a mandate from the American people to clean up the airwaves, the Internet, and soon inside your own bedrooms.
Those who don't believe that are delusional.

Some religious looney toon sentator from some Bible Belt state attached a bill to another bill about military appropriations that would make broadcasters, disc jockeys, talk radio hosts, personally liable, subject to huge fines, for things the FCC, not a jury of your peers, deemed indecent. No due process here, just a kangaroo court.

The FCC under Clinton fined Stern, it was lip service, there were never any threats to revoke licenses, fine broadcasters personally - free speech was alive and well, if you wanted to be a bad boy and say vagina on the airwaves, you paid a little penalty.

Selective censorship I don't think so.

After what Jackson did, it doesn't make any Diff. who was in office a Demo or Rep. the same shit would be appening.

Main stream america will not put up with it.
They don't give a flying fuck what you, me or any other Porn peddler thinks.
And that's a fact .
Now if that make's me stupid so be it.

And the adult business is not going any where makes NO diff. if Bush or Kerry is in office.

ZanyCash Larry 06-24-2004 08:34 AM

It all started from Janet's incident. That bitch :321GFY

Again... apples and oranges...

Jackson.... sports event... families... not expected....

Stern... know for his antics, no families, expected....

Big difference... the jackson thing is something that the people there COULD NOT turn off... or people at home either... they never knew it was coming.

See my point?

Not saying Kerry will be any better... but we will not know till he gets into office... we all seen what bush has done...... and NONE of it was any good.

None of this would be happening if the Jackson thing didn't happen, get that through your head.

And if you want Stern on radio, don't like what the FCC is doing 2 him, write and email your congressman, write and email clear channel.

Talk to me boy
No disrespect, I don't mean no harm
Talk to me boy
I can't wait to have you in my arms
Talk to me boy
Hurry up cause you're taking too long
Talk to me boy
Better have you naked by the end of this song

Might not have been expected, but it should be no suprise either.

stocktrader23 06-24-2004 08:45 AM

Wonder what would have happened if Janet whipped out her titty to breastfeed instead of show of jewelry.

Been there, done that... along with many others i know... it means nothing...

And there is a HUGE difference between showing an old broken down tit on television and in front of families with children... and a few fart jokes on the radio.

I see no comparison to the two... even though the jackson thing started this... I am not understanding the connection between tits on tv and a few childish jokes being told on the radio.

Again, the super bowl... there was no choice involved... that was just done and with no warning.... Stern is something that you DO NOT have to even turn on in the first place.

Can you at least see my point? It makes no sense.... Especially when stern was fined for making a statement.... oprah, made the same statement... and no fine because she is beloved.... that is not selective censorship? Then what is?

haha. "just write...."

the problem with the Stern listeners and that demographic is that it is largely a bunch of people who will NEVER do anything about it but piss and moan and complain among themselves.

the fact of the matter is that it is just not that important to Stern listeners (though they say it is) - otherwise, they would be up in arms, organizing themselves and trying to change or at least challenge the law.

I see you point but that's where it started with Jackson, if that didn't happen you wouldn't be seeing all this shit happening with the FCC. And you better believe all those Soccer mom's know they have the FCC's ear now.

Oh I still don't give a fuck what they do 2 Stern
