Howard is planning a counter strike that will be epic......
over the next 17 months you wil see Howard Stern do some remarkable things...... Little Elves are working around the clock...... Sterns Message board launching to a browser near you in the days to come! |
Send Dubya back to texas, I wish I was a US citizen so I could vote that goofball out of office.
Free Stern! F' the FCC |
The Senate approved a provision to raise fines for indecent broadcasts to as much as $275,000 per incident and up to $3 million a day. The House has passed a bill to raise fines to as much as $500,000 for each violation. It would also require the FCC to consider revoking a station's broadcast license after three violations of indecency rules.
just as Howard brought up Wed. you can dump nuclear waste and be fined less!! go fine McDonalds |
im sure this isn't the last of stern :)

when the bill gets signed i don't expect Howard to stick around long, he'll force CBS/Infinity's hand to cut him loose and to pay him what's remaining on his contract. I just can't see him doing what he says he's going to do, becoming a top 40 disc jockey.
or he could turn into Lenny Bruce and spend the next 15 months raging against the government, that will piss off the fans who just want to be entertained on their drive to work. Bush is making a martyr of Howard, this could be the greatest achievement of Howard's career, to play a hand in the defeat of a president. He has the listeners to do it, just a question of whether those listeners will get out and make the vote against Bush. It's pretty sad how little support Howard has got from other people in show business. This is how scared Hollywood, radio and TV are of Bush, nobody wants to say anything. I still can't believe Disney crumbled and won't distribute Fahrenheit 9/11. Bush is turning into Nixon, Nixon talked to pictures on the wall, got Henry Kissinger to pray with him in the Oval Office, and had a secret enemies list a mile long. Take away the right to say "fuck" and you take away the right to say "fuck the government." ~Lenny Bruce |
Bush pushes fear
gee wanna see Fahrenheit 911? hmmm good luck in some places |

It is equally wrong for a government organization to penalize Stern for what he says as it would be to penalize Limbaugh for what he says. The 1st Amendment came first for a reason; it is the front line of defense against the rise of a facist regime. If you allow censorship, you invite dictatorship. Quote:
An honest government working for the people does not fear an open society. Censorship is the tool of those with a hidden agenda. If government is allowed to control the content of the media, democracy fails. Study your history. |
I heard a while back that Stern was thinking about jumping over to XM Satellite radio, that'd be great if he did because then he could let loose and do/say anything without worrying about the FCC.

stern is staying
