google adwords will disapprove all ads from today on
 

...which are linking IN ANY WAY to a dialer.

So if you or the sponsors site that you are advertising has, for example, beside the option to pay with credit card an additional option to pay per minute for international users then all these ads will be disabled until you remove this dialer link from your sponsors site.


This is a new policy and has started immediately today, adwords support wrote me this about this topic:

- Ads that link to a website that initialises a dialer after a set amount
of time has elapsed
- Ads that link to a website that includes links (webmaster content or
advertising content) to dialers

well the fucked up thing is that nearly all sponsor sites have this additional pay per minute option on their join sites.

So you can't promote any topbucks, siccash or nastydollars site anymore on google for example. They all have a pay by phone option.

I'm linking from my own landing page to the first site of a sponsors tour from topbucks for example. There is no dialer anywhere, but if you are at the end of the tour you'll get the normal topbucks join page like this for example:

And there it is, an additional payment option to pay by phone. That's it. From today on you are not allowed to link to this tour anymore.

This is what they wrote me about it:

cen= This variable determines if you will send to the censored or uncensored versions of the tour. If left blank, surfers will be sent to the non-censored tour. If cen=y, surfers will be sent to the censored tour. The censored tours have no webphone option and no dialer on the join page. :thumbsup

Thats really fucked up, if your not auto installing a dialer then wtf is the problem . Google makes all these fucking Adword rules yet they still spider and produce searches with the most nasty, illegal shit you can possibly find on the net . :321GFY

I still hope that all this dialer bullshit is just a bad joke.

This effectively cuts out the middle man. Affiliates can't promote certain programs via adwords anymore but the programs themselves can make a join page wih no dialer option and promote the sites themselves and keep full revenue.

they charge you per minute, and mostly they are expensive.

But users can choose whether they like to use a dialer or not. Google doesn't seem to know this, or google thinks all their users are low-brainers who can't fill out a credit card form and therefor they have to use the dialer.

Correct me if I am wrong, but there is a distinction between join by phone and a dialer isn?t there? Most sponsors have join by phone option where you aren?t required to download any software your phone bill is just charged for access to the site.

Damn, what a shitty move on google's part. Webmasters must have been abusing dialers to the point where google was overwhelmed with complaints.

This reminds me of back when Goto started adding so many rules that it became a full time job to try to keep up with them.

Nope, I also got their disapproved emails a few minutes ago. I've sent them an email and tried to explain the difference between an aggressive dialer and one that is used as an additional billing method, but I guess we'd need a lot more people to email them and explain to them that they made a mistake.

Please note that if you submit these ads again, we will be unable to run
any of your AdWords ads in the future.
