I'm seriously considering taking up poker as a career.
 

Anyone here make a decent wage playing poker?

The guy who owns 24hpoker (the software that I was trying to have a tourney under) made it big doing that.

why not give it a try if you are good, but isnt it hard to do well online by yourself?

Yeah, I actually win enough even on small tables to live decently. Just don't have time to play them like I want.

Oh, the big tables are a goal of course. I'm working on cleaning up my n/l game (pretty decent as is), I was playing mainly limit and I'm not scared of anyone on that game. Played n/l with a couple of guys that buy in to the WSOP events and pretty much ran them all over the table.

But speaking of online, party poker has a tourney every week now and first place runs around $70,000. One of those from time to time would pad the income pretty good by itself. :winkwink:

we give 50% rake back if you play at least 20 hours a month at$2/$4 tables and up



80% if you can comit to 35 hours+ a month

I play online and at the local casino. But no, I win decent money online.

Go for it man. I was going to claim my occupation as a professional gambler a couple years ago (I am 22 now), just to see if the government would contact me to see what the fuck was up. Never happened though.

I very rarely lose at poker.

To me it's the Game that's the fix, regardless of the money.

If you think that you've got it in you then you should give it a try.


Get into small games to begin with and work on a bankroll.

At the Webmaster Poker Tourney at Internext, the dealer at my first table was a professional poker player (he was doing the organizer a favor dealing that night). He says he makes tens of millions most years just by playing at the Bellagio at nights (besides the big tourneys he enters). There is a huge amount of "whales" that fly to Vegas and don't mind losing a few hundred grand or more at a sitting just so they can say they tested their mettle against the pros and so they have a good time and a great story to take back to their friends how they played against those guys on TV at the WOrld Series of Poker... Its a big business apparently getting in games at Bellagio with big bankroll suckers.

we only want props who are good poker players. YT was easy to say yes to. 80% rake back on less than 10 hours a week. (35 min. a month)

Bankroll isn't a problem. They don't have huge games locally and I can play whatever online. I pulled out $10,000 on my first $100 deposit last year in a few months playing while I was learning the game. This kind of stuff is a blast, and I love outplaying people as well. Money is just a fantastic benefit of being good.

I am located at my house and the software people are over seas soemewhere. I forget the name. The servers are in costa rica. I am a affiliate of choice poker

like 10 bucks...a tourney or is it real money you are betting with.
i might try my hand..i seem to get consistent results..and anytime i go out it is because i am taking a larger then necessary risk

depends what limit tables you play,how many hands per hour.



tournamnets is a whole different thing. if your good then enter 1 table tournamnets and place 1st, 2nd, or 3rd to win your money back + some more

starting tomorrow I will have $1 sit&go tourneys with unlimited $1 rebuys. That can get to a very high pot. then we will do that for $5 buy in as well
