XBiz awards seriously were fucked up, with one exception.

GFY was the right choice.

All the other "winners": what the fuck? Politics... pure and simple.

Sorry if this pisses anyone off. If you were one of the "winners", don't take it personal. But the best in each category were NOT chosen (with the one mentioned exception) this year.

That doesn't mean I have something against the winners. I just think there were others in each category that should have won.

:2 cents:

i heard people at the round bar telling winners before the event

I was SO mad. I actually started making very loud comments. I could NOT believe who was being chosen. I am very disappointed in the judges. They obviously didn't make their choices based on who was actually the BEST in each category.

That's the way it always works, all award shows are fake unless it's the actual people that get to vote and even then it can still end up screwed up, just look at our president.

Industry Achievement
Larry Flynt

Larry deserved to win, GFY deserved to win. In all other categories, there was a better alternative.

dig420 01-09-2004 07:02 PM

imho xbiz has done a helluva job since their startup, I've been very impressed.

I just went and took a look at their awards, nothing seems out of line to me except maybe Flynt's industry achievement.

in fact, everything that's come out of Helmy has been top notch since they started and they're damn nice guys, why the hate?

Gimme a break!

Does anyone have the full list of all nominees? If so, please post.

dig420 01-09-2004 07:08 PM

Epoch leaves chunks of ccbill in it's waste every morning, and ARS probably only does, oh, say, 500x the signups that LS does. Don't see how these are poor choices...

Apparently Larry Flynt gets different standards applied then everyone else... usually an ACACIA signer is subject to boycott and neverending bashing here.

OY 01-09-2004 07:10 PM

I think Xbiz has done a fantastic job since day one as well.

As you might know, I was a judge this year - just as I was last year, and there is more...

MPA2 - Mansion Productions product was nominated not only last year, but this as well.

WE DID NOT WIN OUR CATEGORY.

All I can say is congratulations to StatsRemote for winning my category, and hope that I will be nominated next year too.

Three times is a charm, right?

:thumbsup

And stop all the bitching, bitches...

CCBill is so far ahead of Epoch in every way that it's not even funny. And how many signups a program does were not an issue.

Are you a lightspeed affiliate? Have you been inside and taken a look around?

This year's awards were based on personal relationships between the judges and the companies being judged, in my opinion. They were supposed to be based on who was the best in each category.

StatsRemote over MPA2 is another example of the wrong decision being made. IMHO

I see 2 or 3 judges who aren't fit to judge a kiddie talent contest.

Just because someone posts on the boards, pretending that they know what they're talking about, does not qualify them to judge others. How about ensuring that ALL of the judges are people who have actually accomplished something?

Another problem is that many of the judges represent companies who have strong aliances with some of the nominees, and others have grievances.

Taint!

that would be a tough play with 5 judges..
with 31, it would almost seem impossible.

Didn't think so.

Donovan, in what way is CCBill ahead of Epoch? I can't think of anything off the top of my head but you're welcome to enlighten me. Regarding programs, if signups generated isn't an issue then what is? What makes LS better than ARS? They have to be pals with Donovan Phillips? That seems to be your criteria, that they've allowed you in to take a look around. Hell you can come and hang out here for an afternoon if that's what it takes ;)

CCBill is rock solid, consistent, and always innovative. How many posts do you see on here that say:

"Spam me with Epoch sponsors!"

???

Why do you think people want to be "spammed with CCBill sponsors"

???

Because CCBill is the best. Best admin tools. Best tracking of sales. Best at everything they do.

Lightspeed is a better affiliate program than ARS because Lightspeed offers better service to affiliates. Pure and simple.

LS offers a healthplan, more or better sites? better promotional material? Do you do any shoots for LS?

if I remember right, it was Epoch who came out with cross sales, member plus, cancel plus, one clicks.. ccbill has recently integrated xsales but I don't think they have the other features incorporated yet and they don't have anything unique that Epoch doesn't have that I can recall. Also, Epoch stats imho are far superior and I KNOW the scrub rate isn't nearly as bad, you make FAR more $$ with Epoch.

Nothing against CCBill or LS, they're good guys, but I think you're way off base in your complaints here.

I'm not complaining about losing to ARS. They are a great company. I've been inspired by some of their efforts myself.

I was damn proud to be nominated, and to receive a nice round of applause when our name was announced.

Congrats to the winners and thank you Xbiz for a good time!

If you believe that you need to get yourself an education and move out of momma's house.

Just because Perfection Girls (allegedly) abused a great tool does not mean that tool is for shaving.

That tool makes it easy to take a recurring program and make it into a "pay per signup" program for affiliates that want PPS.

Example: I pay 50% recurring on Naked College Girls. But Choker wants PPS. So for Choker I can change him to 85% payout with zero rebills. Now all of a sudden Choker is paid $25.45 per sign up and I don't have to create a seperate sign up page for his traffic.

Cases like THAT are why such a tool was created. CCBill made it possible for affiliates to see when sponsors are abusing it.
