How much ATTENTION and THOUGHT do you put into TEXT?
Seems like most webmasters are concerned with layout. But it's TEXT that closes the deal. How much time and effort do you put into text writing?

Text is more important to some surfers and images mean everything to others - You really have to try and put the two together together -

In SEO, a shitload.

I find text more interesting to work with than pics/graphics, so lots.
|
AdWords wont allow me to put pictures in. :(
|
Haterade? lmao I don't hate you. If I did, you'd be the last one to know it. ;-) I just think you're nothing but a spammer.

Site text is definitely the MOST important element to a design.
While the picture and the layout FRAME the message, the message CORE is still with the text. It is the CALL TO ACTION that makes it happen. |
I try to put just as much thought into the text as I do into the fancy. and not so fancy, graphic images. I'm focusing specifically on galleries at the moment, so the sell to the surfer is very important. I try to keep in line with the text on the site I'm promoting. It's my belief that keeping uniformity there will only help boost sales.
Getting the surfer worked up and interested in what you have to offer is just as important as what you have to offer :thumbsup |
text really helps
you can really gt and keep their attention. painting a picture with some properly placed text will certainly increase your conversions |
text is very important to everything i do.

I agree that text closes the deal, text links convert better than banners for me if the right words are used

Put shitloads of thought into text. Not just the words itself but how they are presented. If you have an eye catching phrase to pass unto the surfer slam it at them with a nice size 5 font in bold arial black of comic sans ms in a color that contrasts highly with the background color. Then underneath in a smaller font at default head parameter font color and default font family hit them with details. Then underneath have the "CLick Here BLAH BLAH BLAH" shit in a totaly different color and bolded comic sans size 4.
Sounds complicated and retarted but god damn.... it works! |

text is indeed very important
$5 msg me on icq please wanna make you some money ;) |
I personaly love text. Graphics are too slow loading and take time.
Text always converts the best for me. |

Just like us webmasters buying a program! You can't just look at screen shots of AutoGalleryPro, or screenshots of AdultDevil products, because you WANT/NEED to know what is coming along with the package! That's my :2 cents: jDoG |
I try to spend as much time possible revising text. Its quite a hard job when you think about it. Has to be short, concise, to the point, yet also be appealing and evocative.

as has been posted above both are important.
You can have some nice text but if your layout draws them away from that then you can miss closing the deal you're creating a cake here..there isn't one ingredient that is more important than the other..they are all combined to create a finished product that you hope tastes good. |
a good deal...especially as I work with sub niches/real fetishes it is really good search engine food plus there are words and phrases that a person with a particular fetish are waiting to read before they sign up.
|
use images to lure them in and use text to close the sale:thumbsup I'm a freak at both.
|
I'm trying to spend some good time on the text, but i'm not nearly as good as most people here. Seems like i don't have the touch yet :(
|
i think the text is more omportant than the graphics :2 cents:
|
I spend alot of time trying to make a good catchy sales pitch. The lenght of the text is very important. Make it too short like 'Click Here' and you won't be able to describe what the surfer will see when he arrives at the sponsor page. Make it too long and he will get bored and won't read the whole thing and go away. The most important thing is to describe what the surfer will see when he arrives at the 1st tour page of the sponsor. The 1st impression is always the most important. If he gets horny and interested reading your sexy text phrase and finds exactly what he was imagining at the 1st sponsor tour page, he'll be sold immediately. :Graucho

There's definitely an art to it.

I spend most of my time on the text. Design is pretty much hit and miss and can be tweaked. But text is the soul of any page.
|
Graphics...when it comes to movies. Difference between 1 sale a day and 30 sales. Just my :2 cents:
|
The next important thing to discuss re text... what is more effective...text on graphics or plain text. My bet would be for the latter. However, text does need some graphic "eye catchers" to fully maximize its efficacy.

Gotta have balance...between the layout, the graphics and the text..... |
