Player Ball Update
 

I've had a ton of emails and have seen it come up in other peoples threads, so I thought I'd make a thread and share the latest happenings.

We've been pretty quiet over the past 2 months, didn't want to say anything until I had a good idea what's going on.

As you might or might not be aware, the Players Ball is usually the most hyped up party at Internext. Bringing in legendary talents to perform infront of a private internet crowd with pornstars, models, celebs and of course, our own webmasters. It's the long lasting event in our industry, over 5 years, 2 per year. This will be our 11th Players Ball.

So here's the deal. Sponsorships have been very tough to raise. The money isn't being spent in large chunks like in the past. We can get almost any artist, if we have the money for it. We really tried for 50 Cent and Snoop Dogg (again), but they want over $100,000 each, and like I said, couldn't commit enough money in advance to lock that in. It doesn't mean someone of that caliber won't show up and party and possibly perform a tune or 2.

We almost locked in Lil Jon and the Eastside Boys, but after bouncing their name around this industry, no one knew who they were. They have 3 hits on the radio right now, maybe more. It would have been a top 5 rapper in today's market. We passed, they wanted slightly more money then we agreed to, and we figured it wouldn't have been the best performance for our crowd. That would have been too hardcore rap, which I'm down with, but webmasters matter most when picking the artists.

We did lock in Naughty By Nature, full concert. They have tons of huge hip hop hits that our crowd will love and dance to. They will be our "Digital Underground" this year. Since we save a little money doing them as opposed to Lil Jon, we put in an offer for DJ Quik as well, waiting to hear back if he takes it. Too Short will also be MC'ing the party and performing a few tunes including his new "Pimpandho.com" track.

We're looking into big name DJ's that spin hip hop, maybe some electronica DJ's.

If we can raise lot's of money fast, we'll consider booking other big artists, Lil Kim, Cypress Hill and others are in the running. But that's only if we get the webmaster support fast enough. For now, we have a great foundation to a fun party.

The venue is new, totally upscale, with Opium Bed Booths and curtains around them, all over the place. Capacity is 1500 to 2000 people, upstairs and downstairs. No VIP, everyone is a VIP. We will have private booths and a private section with booths, but that's a part of our sponsorship package.

I'll have more info later on how to obtain passes and sponsorships. Everyone can get a pass with a sponsorship for as low as $100, inlcudes an Epassporte account and free email, text link in weekly Players Ball newsletter and website for at least 3 months.

Other packages will be priced at only $5k each and will include a private booth or opium den bed with table, name on back of the pass, banners in site and newsletter, etc. You'll have a bunch of passes for you and your friends with that package.

Our only confirmed main sponsor is Epassporte, we might take one more main if anyone is interested, no more.

Anyway, just wanted to give a heads up since we haven't really created a buzz yet and people are asking.

Our party isn't for everyone, but for those that have enjoyed our parties in the past, this one will be extra special, you won't want to miss it.

January 7th, wednesday night, last night of the show. Early admission time this year, 10:30 pm.

PussyCash.com will be our official Big Woody Awards sponsor, those big dicks will be presented to top industry pimps and playettes.

I'll post more when we're ready to accept sponsorships.

If anyone wants to secure these private booths but can't afford $5k, if you buy $1,000 worth of passes with sponsorships, you can get a reserved private table and booth on the second level, until they run out.

We have private rooms on the seond level with private balcony's as well if anyone wants it, 2 left.

Oh yeah, we'll have Go Go dancers all, and we;re trying to lock in strippers to work our crowd. Not sure if they'll be able to be nude. But we do have curtians around the lot's of booths, so tip well. That's still in the works. Wil lhave have some transportation, limo's and vintage Roll Royces (like we used to).

Shit, set up some beds in the middle of the dance floor, have too short rapping while bitches suck dick...I wouldn't waste money on Naughty for real....

Seen them many times and much like the people who thought digital underground was washed up-

You'll see just how hot it is- Digital became a staple at the Player's Ball becasue the CROWD demanded them back every year.

There are quite a few surprises in the works and I just got a call from Andre Reed and Donnie edwards saying they want to come- they heard some big athletes were supposed to show, along with some big celebs-

the spot is dope- Big props to my bro D$ for scouting out this venue while most of us were drinking away in LA-

I think this show will be up there with Snoop as far as fun, and eye candy is concerned.

All webmasters will walk away scratching their heads again as to what they had just seen-

Hehe I remember I posted this a couple of months back after the usual big names were thrown in the air.

I can't wait! I always "try" to make it and get distracted and dragged elsewhere.... If I give them $17 at the door, KB, can I get in without a bunch of shit? :)

FM not ponying up big bucks this year? No doubt hard to raise $ for parties. Simply not worth the return on investment, not even close.

I was hoping for JayZ or Garth Brooks personally. But I am down with OPP.

Too Short can perform as long as he'd like. And probably will if the crowd is feelin' it.

I'm setting up the girls with the intent to please my peeps, so look out, you might just get what you wish for.

We still are adding on artists to the party, I was just saying that Naughty is one of them and Short Dogg is another.We could still end up with a band, rapper, comedian, whatever.

It's a solid foundation guaranteed to please the masses attending. Keep in mind, we usually have over 4500 people in our party, so obviously rap/hip hop works just fine. And we still turned away people at the door. We can throw parties, proven, so all will be good.

This venue is simply, dope! If you pervs want to bring your ho's or find some there, it is a pimp and ho event with back corners and private booths everywhere. Go nuts.

Anyway, even when we did Snoop Dogg, we still had people bash the line up and party. Forget about the artists, the party is what creates the vibe. The people, the music, beautiful women, celebs chillin' with us, etc.

Not for everyone, just the first 1500 that secure sponsorships. For $100, you can't beat a package like this. We have a 3,000 webmasters in our mailers that actually attended the party and thousands of webmasters hitting the site. You really can't lose.

And if you've never seen Naughty By Nature in concert, yo'd be surprised how many hits thaey have and how the clug will be jumping. More so then if I had Lil Jon and the Eastside Boys.

Still trying to get Ludacris to hang, and others. So don't assume we're done with the line up and details. This was just a "where we're at now" post.

Big DJ's in the works, looking for the biggest New York DJ, like Green Lantern or DJ Whoo Kid, maybe Kid Apri again, DJ Z-Trip if he cancels a date to do it, and many others int he running.

Not Digital. I felt after doing them 5 or 6 times, they're done for a while. Keep it fresh.

I'll call Ice-T and see what that pimp is up to, get his ass there too. In Miami, he was great.

If I had the money raised, like int he past, we'd have Snoop or 50 Cent no problem. Still can if I lock i main sponsor or 2.

Every time we do these, we try for the biggest names and get what's available for the amount raised.

Would love to see Snoop Dogg, but if it's not gonna happen, fuck it.

After last year, I can see why money is hard to come by...

You never know, Xzibit could show up and perform again, any past artist could do it. We pay very well, and in advance. Most promoters pay 50% the night of the party, we like to keep them happy by taking great care of them, paid in full helps. Warren G came last time because Snoop told him it was the bomb.

Snoop asked me if he could play all of them. I said, come down in price and you've got it.

Getting those last second hook ups happen, we have lot's of people interested in performing a tune or 2, without contracts. Murphy Lee, E 40, WC, Suga Free, B Legit, Obie Trice (might be locked in as well as a performing artist) and lot's of others have inquired already. Maybe Nelly will show. You really never know for sure until the last second.

Ashton Kutcher maybe? He was performing with Digital a couple years back and had a blast. Connan O'Brian asked him about it on his show.

All can say is this party is guaranteed to be a huge hit with everyone attending.

I hope to see RRRed there. And knowing even Brad is down with OPP shows the appeal of this party.

Great news D$..........Happy to hear about the new venue, this could bring the Players Ball to an entire new level. Smaller more intimate, I LOVE IT :thumbsup

I could show up and perform too, but not likely. I am too expensive. If place only holds 1500 and Evan is going to hitting the streets hanging out free tickets, sure to be too packed. I need to get a job as a doorman that night, I can clean up!

It's start to a new structure to the Ball. The old venue had problems with crooked door people and I was too censored. Not this time. Everyone is guaranteed to get in, no hassles since it's a third of the size as the last place. Also, when it was in the Venetian, we had ton's of people without passes fighting to get in and crowding up that lobby area.
For it to truly be a "Players" Ball, it needs a state of the art venue with an upscale decor.

If this Ball does really well with these small sponsorships raised, we'll use profits for the next one so each Players Ball will be a bigger artist. Our industry is hurting big time, so this is a way for the Players Ball to survive through tough times.
