I've had a ton of emails and have seen it come up in other peoples threads, so I thought I'd make a thread and share the latest happenings.
We've been pretty quiet over the past 2 months, didn't want to say anything until I had a good idea what's going on.
As you might or might not be aware, the Players Ball is usually the most hyped up party at Internext. Bringing in legendary talents to perform infront of a private internet crowd with pornstars, models, celebs and of course, our own webmasters. It's the long lasting event in our industry, over 5 years, 2 per year. This will be our 11th Players Ball.
So here's the deal. Sponsorships have been very tough to raise. The money isn't being spent in large chunks like in the past. We can get almost any artist, if we have the money for it. We really tried for 50 Cent and Snoop Dogg (again), but they want over $100,000 each, and like I said, couldn't commit enough money in advance to lock that in. It doesn't mean someone of that caliber won't show up and party and possibly perform a tune or 2.
We almost locked in Lil Jon and the Eastside Boys, but after bouncing their name around this industry, no one knew who they were. They have 3 hits on the radio right now, maybe more. It would have been a top 5 rapper in today's market. We passed, they wanted slightly more money then we agreed to, and we figured it wouldn't have been the best performance for our crowd. That would have been too hardcore rap, which I'm down with, but webmasters matter most when picking the artists.
We did lock in Naughty By Nature, full concert. They have tons of huge hip hop hits that our crowd will love and dance to. They will be our "Digital Underground" this year. Since we save a little money doing them as opposed to Lil Jon, we put in an offer for DJ Quik as well, waiting to hear back if he takes it. Too Short will also be MC'ing the party and performing a few tunes including his new "Pimpandho.com" track.
We're looking into big name DJ's that spin hip hop, maybe some electronica DJ's.
If we can raise lot's of money fast, we'll consider booking other big artists, Lil Kim, Cypress Hill and others are in the running. But that's only if we get the webmaster support fast enough. For now, we have a great foundation to a fun party.
The venue is new, totally upscale, with Opium Bed Booths and curtains around them, all over the place. Capacity is 1500 to 2000 people, upstairs and downstairs. No VIP, everyone is a VIP. We will have private booths and a private section with booths, but that's a part of our sponsorship package.
I'll have more info later on how to obtain passes and sponsorships. Everyone can get a pass with a sponsorship for as low as $100, inlcudes an Epassporte account and free email, text link in weekly Players Ball newsletter and website for at least 3 months.
Other packages will be priced at only $5k each and will include a private booth or opium den bed with table, name on back of the pass, banners in site and newsletter, etc. You'll have a bunch of passes for you and your friends with that package.
Our only confirmed main sponsor is Epassporte, we might take one more main if anyone is interested, no more.
Anyway, just wanted to give a heads up since we haven't really created a buzz yet and people are asking.
Our party isn't for everyone, but for those that have enjoyed our parties in the past, this one will be extra special, you won't want to miss it.
January 7th, wednesday night, last night of the show. Early admission time this year, 10:30 pm.
PussyCash.com will be our official Big Woody Awards sponsor, those big dicks will be presented to top industry pimps and playettes.
I'll post more when we're ready to accept sponsorships.
If anyone wants to secure these private booths but can't afford $5k, if you buy $1,000 worth of passes with sponsorships, you can get a reserved private table and booth on the second level, until they run out.
We have private rooms on the seond level with private balcony's as well if anyone wants it, 2 left.
Oh yeah, we'll have Go Go dancers all, and we;re trying to lock in strippers to work our crowd. Not sure if they'll be able to be nude. But we do have curtians around the lot's of booths, so tip well. That's still in the works. Wil lhave have some transportation, limo's and vintage Roll Royces (like we used to).
