Headless is a Harsh bastard, aint he?

:winkwink:

Mr.Fiction 11-10-2003 09:08 PM

Supreme Court may rule next year that all adult sites have to use AVS. :1orglaugh

makefuckingmoney 11-10-2003 09:08 PM

Who said AVS is dead?

Did paysites die when Xpics went out?

Did recurring sites die when Busty Amateurs went out?

I still see a ton of AVS's out there..

now if you are retarded enough to do ANY RECURRING type program... you deserve what you get..

Rorschach 11-10-2003 09:19 PM

It's easy to laugh from afar and say I told you so... but I know some people who are taking a massive hit to their income because of this. They probably should have known better but I feel for them just the same. :(

twistyneck 11-10-2003 09:36 PM

AC has been fucked for months. When AC Pay went tits up, that should have been a warning to anyone depending on them for income that it was time to start doing something else.

berg.the.red 11-10-2003 09:54 PM

just cause AC "changed business models" ( and screwed their webmasters in the process ) doesn't mean all AVS systems are dead ...

SmutGiant 11-10-2003 09:58 PM

I'm doing well with AVS and plan to keep going til the end!

Juggernaut 11-10-2003 10:01 PM

Adult Check has just about gone under because surfers know after a whole two seconds that they just got robbed, so they charge back, or complain.

That's what happens when you don't filter your content. Another reason is that people realize they have just spent $20 - $30 on three galleries.

As long as content providers keep licensing video content to people like Adultbouncer and Deluxe Pass etc, AVS sites will have a place on the internet.

Fuckin-A dead on Got get a DP pass and you get swamped with good ass movies you couldnt download all of them in a month if you wanted to :thumbsup

SmutGiant 11-10-2003 10:06 PM

I can imagine the chargebacks with the type of AVS's where the surfers think they're getting a free membership, but also get charged $40 for a paysite.

Premium AVS sites on the other hand have amazing retention!!

I agree, DP kicks ass! I've never actually promoted them before, but I've been inside the members area and it rocks! Definetly gonna give them a try sometime soon.

Veterans Day 11-10-2003 10:09 PM

I made 2 sites with them before my little ole paysite and man the fuckin rebills KILL and the members area is massive, awesome value for a surfer looking for movies thats for sure

How would you explain Adult Check having 4 to 5 times the retention of the best paysites out there?

Apperantly you haven't heard or have been hiding under a rock. The credit card companies aren't going to process for AVS companies anymore. They are slowly shuting down each AVS one by one. The AVS companies are either going to have to change their business model and become a paysite with affiliates like Adult Check just has or else not take Visa and Mastercard anymore. I think the other option to them is for them to become a 3rd party biller and charge everbody using their system the $750 fee.

This has been known for a couple of months now. It seems like everybody that is making money from AVS is running it to the end or just plain living in a fantasy world and don't want to execpt that AVS will be gone by the beginning of next year.

Like I was sayin do you think it makes a difference that you must host the site On a Deluxe Pass server theoretically giving them the site and all you do is send traffic? Just like all sponsors:2 cents:

It true. My Adult Check Gold rebills were always above 90% every month. I can't think of any paysite that will recur memberships likes that month after month after month.

Veterans Day 11-10-2003 10:17 PM

My Dp site does :glugglug

makefuckingmoney 11-10-2003 10:17 PM

If Visa does kill avs for the reason of not having the webmasters registered individually..

dont you think they will come after affilates next?

How many AVS systems were shut down by Visa? I know of one and that was because the chick that ran it was in Canada. AC tried to play the "fuck you Visa" game and lost. All the other systems have made the changes Visa wanted and were given the seal of approval by virtue of the fact that Visa accepted the changes and seems to have dropped the issue.

There is no reason for them to go after affliates and they couldn't even if they wanted to. A AVS is setup similar to a 3rd party biller, execpt when you join, your joining muliple sites. So the credit card companies feel that if they are nothing more than a 3rd party biller, they need to be one and charge everybody using the AVS system the $750 or not take CC anymore. That is why Adult Check changed their business model. I haven't used a AVS system since 1997.

I didn't say that any have been shutdown. I said they will be around the beginning of next year. Pull up this thread after March of next year and see how many are left.

dropped9 11-11-2003 12:28 AM

If I was you... I would run far far away from AVS systems and sites.......

makefuckingmoney 11-11-2003 12:42 AM

Headless,

I own an AVS..

Funny to see you dancing on the grave of a dead program..

Did you work for maxcash in 99?

Who said I was dancing... I am just stating the obvious... If you own an avs then more power to you. Dont go bringing up the past to make a "hey look at me I'm cool post".... AVS is in trouble and I've seen this coming for months...

makefuckingmoney 11-11-2003 12:47 AM

Yeah i didnt think i would see someone from that company dancing on another programs grave and urging people to avoid one of my company's..

You should check with your bosses and see how they feel..

I find it pretty offensive.

Ask around..

Chris

Did I once say stay away from your company? NO. I said stay away from AVS. And i think there is good enough reason to do so. It's on shacky ground with all the visa stuff. Would you rather me lie and spread fake rumors and bs? Please.

Phoenix66 11-11-2003 12:55 AM

What's a big deal if AVS are shut down? I talked to the guys from i-bill and they said it's not a problem to bill my bunch of quanum AVS sites as an independent paysite if I make a small reorganization. I keep sticking with AVS though, untill I build more sites. I think I have too few content to make an independent site yet.

makefuckingmoney 11-11-2003 12:55 AM

Headless,

Hmm..

Sure looks like you are laughing in your post..

This is effecting a ton of smaller webmasters..who will now lose recurrings and other income.. and you find it funny.

I just find it quite ironic that somone representing Maxcash would laugh at some people that are standing to lose thousands of dollars in this..

No one will lose a dime in my company, NOBODY. So to urge them to avoid my company is something I take offense to. And I dont believe someone in your position should tell them to.

I adore maxcash and go way back with that program. People give your opinions credibility because of your sig and your position in that company.

I remember 99.. You should too.

Im suprised you find it funny..

Chris
