This is a common theme among many webmasters, and is totally bogus. If you are any kind of webmaster, that means you run some sort of website, which means you need other webmasters for such things as traffic trades, link trades, etc. Without good trades your site has no traffic. Oh, you can buy traffic, but for that you need to talk to traffic brokers, which are WEBMASTERS. Are webmasters going to trust you to pay what you owe them if you come off as a complete dick on the boards? Try it and see.

This is a good example of another point worth mentioning --- Don't post anonymously. Especially if you are a known or well-known webmaster on these boards...... posting under an anon nick is pathetic and drops any credibility you may have had down to zero. Does credibility matter? The losers will say no, but ask most of those that are already "where you want to be", which brings me to my next point..... Good point. I assume you are speaking financially. However, if you happen to be casting this comment in my direction, your mistake is that you simply don't know "where I am". Few do.

Never make assumptions about people here. Some that you might think are pipsqueaks are making excellent bank, while some that pretend to be players.... aren't. I've been around for over 5 years now in this biz, I retired from my former job 4 years ago and haven't looked back. Beyond that, think up whatever you want.

Some people here * and no I'm not pointing at you CD* have an inflated sense of self, so much so that even if all you do is just disagree with their opinions it is tantamount to acting like an asshole.

One such person, just because I disagreed with how a company was handling it's affiliates started to accuse me of defaming that company and promised to ruin my business.

Indeed. One thing that has remained constant in the 5 years I have been interacting with adult webmasters is ego. A funny thing happens to some people once their site's traffic rises from 2-3k per day up over 20-30k per day and beyond..... they start thinking that because they have a busier site than someone else that maybe their shit dinna stink. They know who they are, and I'm here to tell you.... your shit still stinks. I guarranty it. No matter how big your paysite network is or how many affiliates you have or how much traffic your tgp gets, if you take a look at your attitude and find that you need a wide-angle lens to fit your badass ego in the picture, maybe it's time you did some work on your persona.

There are exceptions.... there are a few individuals that really pull off the whole ego thing quite well actually.... but most aren't them.
