Once again my ass was in a sling but I know somehow...some way, I'll get out of the situation with hardly a scratch....

First...I got a nice plea on my domestic violence case from 1st degree to 4th degree "menacing" , where I can get it expunged within a year...I gotta pay 180 in fines and court costs..no probation..

And now with a year and a half of bullshit, where she was about to order a psychological evalution of me, where it would have cost thousands of dollars, and the trial set for Jan 16 with my wife getting nothing more than two hours on supervised visitation, my wife FINALLY came to her senses and was willing to cut a deal....The kids will live in her state for nine months and in my state for three...I'll get mostly all of the holidays and here's the best part...I'll be paying NO CHILD SUPPORT! NO SPOUSAL SUPPORT! NO "HALF" OF MY BUSINESS! There will be no courts in my finances and I can go back to laying low in the background..So instead of facing a grip in child support, I can spend it driving to her state every other week and renting a little spot up there so that I can find a few bitches up there for the site....The beef between me and her and her mama is finished and I'm welcome to come around the kids and her family in her state...And we get joint custody so there is no one person who is the "custodial" parent! So I can still claim them for all kinds of benefits!!!

Why do men see paying child support in a negative light?

In some relationships you pay the support and she spends it all on clothes, getting her hair done, going to the gym, etc., and then you still have to fork out the money to buy the kids the stuff they need.

Before you crucify him, consider the fact that things sometimes work out better when you can spend the money directly on the kids instead of giving it to the mother first.

There's a different between being a dead-beat dad not paying child support, and an active father not paying child support. BVF seems like the latter to me.

You people are crazy. The guy has SPLIT CUSTODY of his kids. That means each parent is responsible for the kids equally. Why should someone in a SPLIT CUSTODY situation have to pay for EVERYTHING?

I think it's a little different when people are married and think they're going to be together until death do us part. They don't PLAN on getting a divorce and having to worry about child support. I guess everyone should just have a contingency plan as soon as they pop the question.. just in case :)

Yes.. if he's sharing the custody, if he's taking an active part, he likely doesn't need to pay it, because he's going to provide for anything the children need and more ANYWAYS...

My mom works for child support, more than 70% of the time, the kids aren't seeing any of the money, or even worse the other parent figures they can live off child support alone so they don't get real jobs and the kids suffer living in poverty. If the dad is willing to spend the time and money on his kids without the government forcing him to, i think it will ultimately benefit the kids more than child support.

I agree but the point I was trying to make is for some reason people have the assumption that when things don't work out the guy automatically should be the one to pay for everything and then some.

I have my kid 4 days a week and some people have a problem with the fact that I don't pay child support because my income is ten times what my ex makes. Women also have a responsibility, fortunately courts are starting to realize that.

Yep I have a friend who shares custody and time with his son and doesn't pay either.. He and his ex share the cost equally for medical things, etc etc.. I think it works out great.. Women SHOULD have some responsibility too, however, one must consider her situation. It's NOT always easier for a woman to take 4 kids say and put them into daycare.. Sometimes it's so expensive it completely negates all reason for going out to get a job, because daycare costs more than she could make.. In those kinds of cases, it's hard to point fingers..

one of my very close friends had a situation like that. the bitch was using all the money on drugs and bullshit. she wasn't working. the kids didn't even have clean fucking clothes, and barely any food. and they were raping him to support her drug habit.

she finally crossed the line 1 too many times i guess (they let her get away with ANYTHING, including several neglect charges). he finally got his kids.

i was VERY pleased about that.

Yep.. I'm not one of those foolish women who always sides with the woman. I think every situation needs to have decisions made based on the circumstances at the time. Sure, some people say the kids should be with the mother, but some women are just really fuckign shitty mothers, just like some guys are shitty fathers. It doesn't favor one sex or another. Children need, love, patience, attention, nurturing, encouragement, and a lot of care. I feel the kids belong wherever they are getting what they need. They should always be the primary concern, but in so many nasty breakups and seperations they get used as pawns and people stop thinking about what's best for them. It's sad.

I am not questioning BVF's ability or desire to support his children...however I do question the court's ability to make that decision for any parent.

There are standard practices for a reason, and history has shown that on both sides of the fence, father and mother there have been dead beat parents, I just don't think the court's should take chances on allowing any parent to decide for themselves what, if, or when they should pay anything.

Without there being a court ordered minimum, this leaves it wide open for abuse.

But once again, I am not judging BVF's situation, just the entire process to begin with.

Also just wanted to point out the courts should enforce laws , and court orders on the books regarding child support.

My brother in law is well over $30K in arrears for his child support.

He has NEVER been to jail for this ever. Even though they claim that this will happen if a parent does not follow the court orders and pay.
