NationalNet offered 10mbps for $485... Where's the competition!?

So anyone else can offer a similar deal but with an uncapped 10mbps connection?

Let's hear it!

That may be a tough offer to beat :)

Matt_WildCash 08-01-2003 09:15 AM

You can pay through the ass double that at ISPRIME for 10 megabit capped like $950 or some crazy shit. Damn they need to lower there prices they are out of step with the market.

Juicy D. Links 08-01-2003 09:16 AM

how many gigs is that roughly?

Carrie 08-01-2003 09:22 AM

You can get it (but double the hard drive space) at Rackshack.net for less. $399/month. And a $1 setup fee today to top it off.
If you find the previous client had the line capped, just have tech support uncap it.

AEBN Michael 08-01-2003 09:26 AM

1 mbps = 320 gigs on average

Houdini 08-01-2003 09:32 AM

Jesus, I'm two weeks too late. I just setup with a host for 3mbs for $450. Fuck!

El Kabong 08-01-2003 09:36 AM

Sure, RackShack offers that deal (as they have for quite some time now), but before you run over there and order I'd do a search on this forum for other user experiences over there. RackShack is unmanaged, they're on Cogent (which may be fine for some people), and from the times I have had to deal with their tech support it has been AWFUL. I can't verify that Nat Net is NOT putting these on Cogent (someone else care to clarify?) but they are a well respected company that has been a big player for quite a long time now and I can't remember the last time I heard anyone complain about them. I'm not trying to swing anyone in any one direction, just warning to do your research before you jump. :)

pheal 08-01-2003 09:40 AM

Nat Net should put some hosting prices on their sites.

Isprime sucks, we had about 10% of our biz there for a while and it was like pulling teeth tech wise.

At National Net the support is beyond fast. And you know they are there 24/7 watching your shit.

www.vibehosting.com has a sweet 10mbps deal I've been looking at. 3000 gigs a month on a 100mbps connection for $399 with a kick ass dual-drive server.

Theo 08-01-2003 10:52 AM

Theo 08-01-2003 10:53 AM

StupidNewbie 08-01-2003 11:02 AM

ack 08-01-2003 11:03 AM

whats the overusage fee?

minifly 08-01-2003 11:05 AM

Is capped cheaper for some reason?,

I rather not cap my server as it makes it real slow when it
gets up there.

Brad, you are still crying about us not letting you spam?

Sorry but ISPrime does not allow spam on our network. We have a responsibilty to look out for our clients.

Our tech supports sucks?? haha you are making yourself look like an idiot, ISPrime has outstanding support and any of our customers can vouch for that, that is a fact

You know, everyone warrned me not to do business with you I guess I should have listened.

I suppose I should mention about the checks you wrote that bounced for insufficient funds.
BTW you still owe me $9,000.00 or did you forget how to pay your bandwidth bills.

Have a nice day, see you when I see you...

Since NationalNet invests so much in Support, we have capped the bandwidth on this package to make sure you don't take us to the cleaners...

Funkmaster what can he possibly reply with, that he has an ego bigger then his dick :P hahah that guy is funny he got upset when we shut down his SPAM server for violation of our AUP. It's pretty simple you spam you will be turned off. His reply was "But my current host lets me spam"

I spoke to Greg in Arizona he assured me he was going to rectify the issue amicably, and we let them run for another 45 days even though their checks bounced.

NationalNet is very customer service oriented. We like to build relationships with our clients. As you are aware, we offer 24/7/365 support via phone, email and web ticketing -- if you call at 4am, someone WILL answer and WILL help you.

We feel that posting prices and having online signup lessens the friendship we build with our clients and therefor we prefer to make direct contact with new clients.

If you'd like to speak with me, please call me on my mobile at 404-451-4238 or stop by the dollars.com booth on the convention floor.

Everytime I run a traceroute on my Rackshack server... It's riding on Time-Warner. I've yet to see Cogent show up.

Traceroute OUT from your server, not IN. There are very few hosts that show their true colors to incoming traces and pings.

I'm not trying to bash rackshack, I honestly have no clue about their connections, they very well may be sending web pages out Time Warner. Just wanted to inform you of a misconception about traceroutes.

AWC 08-01-2003 11:34 AM

well shit... when I traceroute OUT from my server via shell... Verio comes up.

Bear 08-01-2003 11:37 AM

Rackshack is not using Cogent. Their connections are even better than other ISP. You get lower price too.

BigFish 08-01-2003 11:49 AM

bad time for rackshack to be sold out of everything lol. Does any of natnet traffic run through cogent?

It is called a cancelled check, for services not rendered. If that check bounced, call the cops. That is the same account I pay out millions of dollars a year on to webmasters. If I bounced a check for $9k, wouldn't you have me arrested?

BTW, your customer service does suck IMHO. Buyer beware.

Give Alex kisses, enjoyed talking to him today when he called me over lunch. Once again he runs his mouth too much for his own good. He should be worried about his business, not me.

Their connections and usage can be viewed on their website: RackShack network usage

They do have one GigE to Cogent still, but it is only a fraction of their total usage...
