I truely feel sorry for French people, most of them are against the war because it is "A la mode", most of them are clueless as to why they are against the war...But now, the US is going to do things against France, so prepare to go and ask for a visa next time you want to come to the US

France is owed over a Billion dollars in oil by Iraq, for weapons sold to them in the past.

As a clarification, Chirac did not sell the reactor to the Iraqis, Mitterand did, as well as the defence minister at the time, Chevenement.

Dislcaimer - I did use to be French, born there, raised there, speak it, but after the gulf war, I became a US citizen and renounced my french citizenship.

Mr Ch-Iraq is very much affraid that when the US occupy Iraq and start looking for paper trail, they will find evidence that lots of French companies have been violating the embargo against Iraq, furthermore; it will be very difficult for Ch-Iraq to deny any knowledge of this.
If confirmed, it would mean that all French companies involved in breaking the embargo would not be able to conduct any business in the US and in most countries who follow US guidelines.
So Mr Ch-Iraq, be prepared to get up the ass without vaseline real real soon.

This is false. US imports oil from Venezuela and from Arabs Country. You do produce a lot too,as you are the fourth world producer. You do also import oil from Canada, but not a lot compared to what you import from elsewhere.

Second, US is the country which is the MOST dependant from oil in the world. Far more than Europe. Because you consume much more oil per inhabitant. You are also the country which is the most dependant from foreign investment. If Europe stops investing iin USA, or withdraw their capital, it could result a crash even bigger than 1929 one.
