That Russian diplomat or delegate or whatever, their guy overseeing the Olympic park development, says on the news that there are "twenty four thousands of new hotel rooms, apartments" etc etc, then in the next minutes reporters are saying that there are tons of reports of rooms not finished, not having running water, or dirty water coming from taps, etc.

With only two days before the first events are set to start I'd say they had four years to get this done and have left it pretty damn last-minute. I think it'll go off basically and the games will get done, clusterfuck or not. But it's anybody's guess right now as to how much national pride and international admiration Russia will glean for it's fifty billion dollar investment.

Nah no biggy.. that's what usually corruption looks like in post-communist countries ;)

I hope there is a series of high death toll terrorist attacks during the sotchi olympics.

Will embarras putin and will teach the IOC and many sportsmen a lesson for selecting such a corrupt country as venue and acting like sport can ignore and should ignore things like human rights

The sotchi olympics are now projected to cost $45b usd... That is more than ALL the previous winter olympics combined
Vancouver just cost $2b

I saw on the news that there are lots of stray dogs around the area and originally, officials were shooting the dogs dead in front of tourists because its just what they do to control the population. After an outcry, they now shoot the dogs at night. Phew!

Its crazy how I think I live in NY and everything is a scam. All the road paving and construction etc. We dont have shit on what goes on in russia. I would say 50 of the 59 billion went to putin directly. about 8 of it to his underlings and maybe 1 billion actually used to build any infrastructure, if that.... Its like the wild wild west but with Rolls Royce and Bentleys instead of horse back.

Because of all the shit that has happened while building this event im going to watch as little as possible from the olympic games.

When someone is asking me if im going to watch the games im going to say no and tell them im not going to watch it because workers and immigrants have been tortured and everyone has not been paid for their job in full, everything about this event is massively corrupt.

Every contractor from the top to the bottom have taken their share of the gold rush, at the very bottom is the foreign immigrants (the most poor) getting the smallest share if paid at all.
