Am I missing something with these "Beats By Dr Dre Headphones" ??? @ the gym ???
I saw reviews about em and the price range ....
At the gym i see every motherfucker wearing them.... Am i missing something? |
No. They are just extremely overpriced headphones. They would be ok if they cost around $50.

the only people missing out on these are the peeps missing a couple hundred bucks+ after buying them.
|
The idiots are probably listening to fucking Lady Gaga while thinking they are cool as shit...
|
They are marketed to a select target group and that group is dipshits who mindlessly by crap because they think it will get them laid when in reality that money would be better spent on hookers and fried chicken.
|
i got skull cady ones i think they cost like 30-40 bucks and they do the job ......
btw yes the type of people at this gym and the area is affluent |
If you want a walking concert on your head and listen to techno and hiphop they are the way to go. If either music is not your style go with the Bose Quietcomfort....
|
They are pretty decent, I bought my gf the studio headphones for Christmas. I think the $189 was worth it, good sound quality, has a nice look to them, comes with a hard case.
|
im that guy that does that but i dont mine for free so i dont think i hold any value towards them
|
I have them in my laptop.

Best headphones I've ever owned. I have over-the-ear for home and in-ear for traveling, gym etc. The over-the-ear are extraordinary - I hear songs that I've listened to all my life differently. Only thing is, their system, a vented diaphragm design that incorporates a large air chamber that allows the sound to go out, means the person next to you can hear the music. Which is why I own a pair of in-ear as well. Because I want to rock out to Barry Manilow while on the 5 train to the Bronx, without loosing my street cred. |
Same idiots use monster cables at home.
|
Buy headphones for the sound quality only.
Wear a suit with nice shoes for that other stuff. :karaoke |

I don't know about the rest of you but I sweat like a mother fucker at the gym. I bought a pair of the Beats by Dre and they were great until the sweat kicked in. At that point they became uncomfortable and trapped too much heat on my head. I returned them and bought a pair of Philips Sports Earhooks for a fraction of the price. Much more comfortable and decent enough quality sound for my needs. :2 cents:

About a year ago I was shopping around for headphones and was prepared to spend $500 on a good pair. I tried various BEATS phones and they all sucked compared to the Bose headphones which I finally bought at about $300. Beats sound good, but they are overpriced and as someone else said, more of a fashion statement. If you want quality, go for Bose.

If you thought the Beats headphones were a rip off, wait till you see the Beats Pill, a portable Bluetooth speaker.
Yours for only $199.99 http://demandware.edgesuite.net/aajh...thrqrtleft.png |

Beats headphones are regular headphones that Dr. Dre has ordained with the power of nothing. If you buy a pair, you're going to be disappointed. They're just headphones. They don't give blowjobs or anything. |
Overpriced as fuck.

Even far from being wireless the best ever small portable headphones I've ever used were Sennheiser cx 500 - with their in ear bulit, they create a major full sound experience such as with huge wrap around ones.
http://www.marcboe.de/wp-content/200...cx-500-blk.jpg Otherwise a huge KOSS fan, but these take the crop when it comes to small and portable ones. I recommend also checking http://en-us.sennheiser.com/earbuds-in-ear-headphones although I have no personal experience with these "sport" models. |
Sennheiser. Forget everything else.
|
You know why Beats are popular and expensive for being headphones that are not of great quality. No need to be disingenuous.

I've been using these. If you are serious about lifting and doing cardio, particularly on the treadmill,... its nice to not have the wires moving around. I like em!

you get what you pay for. fuck dre on this one tho
|
my prob is my fucking ears sweat too! so ear buds get feelign weird fast.
i've been using koss portapro for work outs, the lack of foam and fabric on the top part is much more comfortable to me and the foam side pads help deal with the sweat. and the cable is only 4' long, making it much easier to deal with. + they're only $30 and sound real good and fold up nicely http://thumbnail.image.rakuten.co.jp...mg60167545.jpg for everywhere else i use sony mdr v6, from what i've gathered, the recording industry standard and only $80-ish http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41373ws%2BY0L.jpg |
ahahaha ...
