I bought the Dre in ear headphones a while back and they sucked. Ended up buying a Sennheiser after, but it was pretty bad also. After spending like $300, I thought I will never find the right headphones, but gave it an other go and bought a Bose. It rocks and I'm using it ever since. I'll stay as far away as Dre products as possible. :-)

Smart man, sorry to hear that you lost money to find what was right for you.
Bose are super high quality, and everyone knows this.

Unlike HP, Bose does not need a poster boy to sell their products.

A real performing musician/drummer has to be aware of exactly how he or she plays that percussion instrument to create a mood and setting as the beat is the backbone to the composition. He or she can kick the drum head soft, medium and hard, ever type of skin, type of material effects the out come as well.
DRE does NONE of this, its already handed to him. He pushes buttons and you called him brilliant? Wow just wow.

I started out producing techno/hardcore tracks and later i produced hiphop beats and rapped myself too. So i know exactly how the production process works. It's not a sample here and a sample there, it resembles composing with alot of instruments; the difference is the instruments are digital instead of physical. That's the only difference.

Best headphones I've ever owned. I have over-the-ear for home and in-ear for traveling, gym etc. The over-the-ear are extraordinary - I hear songs that I've listened to all my life differently.

Only thing is, their system, a vented diaphragm design that incorporates a large air chamber that allows the sound to go out, means the person next to you can hear the music. Which is why I own a pair of in-ear as well. Because I want to rock out to Barry Manilow while on the 5 train to the Bronx, without loosing my street cred.

Agree 100% I have been extremely pleased with the two Grado products I own.

But that difference is huge. HUGE! It is what separates musicians from imitators.

Yes Protools and Reason captures live perform instruments.

However, most new age R&B Rap, Hip Hop is not performed with instruments.
Wu-Tang is an exception, they are musicians and hire studio musicians to perform the tracks when necessary.

Let's just say, I have been in the studio with some of these guys.

Real studio musicians also capture by analog Reel to Reel then import to Pro Tools for digital mix down and mastering.
This is where critical listening is required with real high Head Phones and awesome Mackie HR near field monitors.

So please stop.

Not Dre. lol he created beats all electronically, he did not play or perform these beats as a real legendary musician would.

There is a major difference. he is glorified DJ nothing more.

People Like John Lennon and Jimmy Page paved the way for many of these later performers.

Dre is just another electronic musician who came after the legends RUNDMC.

Same could be said for someone arguing that someone who plays the real guitar is better than jimmy hendrix because he plays the electric guitar, etc. The end result of making great music is what really matters.

RZA produces his stuff electronically. You are a hypocrite.

Lets not forget that Dr Dre discovered Snoop Dogg, Eminem, and 50 Cent. All 3 of them were leaders of their genre at one point in time. Yeah, pretty "lucky" for one guy to repeat the same thing three times in a row.

I am not interested in entering this argument.

However I will say that after one success, the light is shone on you and people gravitate towards this.... Being able to pick who is worth chasing, well that is another story and i'm sure he has invested in many who turned out to be worthless...

With regards to headphones and working out.

Just grab 10 sets of cheap ebay ones. I use these for my work outs, because when i'm working out, i'm working out, NOT thinking the music is not sound to my standards because of the ear phones.

I tend to go through workout headphones like crazy which is why i turned to cheap as chips ebay ones.

I'm using these from time to time:

I can hear the music too !
