Most Americans just cannot comprehend how big Texas is.
Texas is bigger than England. Or France. Or Italy.
In most states, you can drive for 3 hours and be 3 states away. In Texas, drive 8 hours and you're still in Texas. Most of you can't even begin to imagine. Everything is bigger in Texas. |
Most Texans can't comprehend how big Alaska is.
|
Most Alaskans can't comprehend how big Canada is.
|
Most Canadians can't comprehend how big North America is.

A lot of Americans still think Alaska is an Island.

Who gives a shit?
There is more history and culture within a 50 mile radius of my home town in Virginia than in the entire state of Texas. |

I drove from Florida to Arizona - headed through Texas East to West and I'll tell you what, the worst part about driving through is watching the exit signs go up by one digit at a time - from 1 all the way somewhere into the thousands. It psychologically makes time go fucking sooooo slooooooow. |

Worldwide, the vast majority of people on the planet have never been more than 250 miles from their place of birth and will never live anywhere but their hometown. Even in Europe, the UK, and the US it is only about half. :2 cents:. |
The drive from East to West in Ontario (Canada) is a good 22 to 24 hours drive depending on the route you take, and that's if you don't stop for any length of time. Huge province.

I drove through Texas one day on my way to a pool tournament in California and stopped at a Red Lobster in El Paso. That was the best damn NY Strip that I've ever had. You could cut it with a fork. :thumbsup

If Alaska broke in half Texas would be the THIRD largest state in the US.

"Everything" equals everything. Hence, nothing is different in Texas.
Just trying to help where needed :) |

Texas is past, president and future. Since Eisenhower, most of our Presidents have been from Texas. And, while NY and California's population declines, Texas is still growing larger every day, and in every way. |

Eisenhower: Born in Texas Kennedy: Needed a Texan to get elected Johnson: Texan. Nixon/Ford/Carter -- Non-Texan disasters, each and every one. Reagan: Texan at heart, who loved Texas so much he had his convention in Dallas. Bush 1: Texan Clinton: Born 50 miles from Texas, and only became president because he ran against 2 Texans (Bush 1 and Perot). Bush 2: Texan Obama: Disasterous non-Texan. |
