pocketkangaroo 08-25-2008 01:59 AM

Cops are dumbshits, that's why they became cops. Not smart enough to make it anywhere else.

pocketkangaroo 08-25-2008 02:15 AM

The cop says "It's just a dog, you can buy another". The city should say "it's just a cop, we can hire another". Too bad that being a cop means you have a green light to do whatever the fuck you want these days. Guy will get a slap on the wrist while he should be serving up fries at the local burger joint.

Itīs the same everywhere with cops.

Give them a uniform and they feel and behave like god.

Antonio 08-25-2008 03:29 AM

yeah, drive with 120 km/hour for a fucking dog, you can kill 3-4 people but who cares, save the fucking mutt!

jimmycash 08-25-2008 03:37 AM

You guys are all schmucks.

A dying dog is not a reason to risk the lives of other motorists on the highway. The guy was doing over 100mph to get to where he was going. This put many other cars in danger.

And judging by the degree of his panic attack, I would guess that the guy has no control over his emotions, which led to the disregard of the other motorists.

I bet if you asked him who he would save if he could save only one from falling of a cliff, his dog, or a human stranger, he would choose his dog.

This, for lack of a more lengthy description, would be, un-wise.

There are too many un-wise people out there. Don't be one of them!

And one last question to ponder...
Would you be more proud of you son or daughter, if they became a Police Officer or if they worked in the porn industry?

Bird 08-25-2008 04:00 AM

Cops always trying to justify their means.

My dog isn't just "a dog." She's a family member, and I'd do the same thing this guy did if she needed me to.

What a terrible tragedy.

:(

Not about the guy driving fast. The cop could have easily noticed it was an emergency situation and helped get the dog to the hospital. Then he could ticket the guy all he wanted. Cops had a chance to do something good there, they chose to be dickheads.

Depends. Wouldn't be a fan of my son/daughter being content as that really isn't doing much with their life. But if they were succesful businessmen in porn, I would be happy. Police officer is usually just a second rate job for washed up military guys or dumb kids who got picked on that couldn't make it in the real world.

There you go, perfect answer.

Sometimes pet owners that love their pets to death can be annoying but personally I don't think this is one of those times. The cop held them up for 20 minutes, there was no reason for that. The time this happened was around midnight and there usually isn't that many cars on i-35 that late in most areas. Although there might have been for some reason, maybe the area it happened was just a busy place at midnight that night but I doubt it. The speed limit is 75, that means he was going "up to" 20 MPH over the speed limit when there probably was hardly any cars around on a huge road.

I find it funny cops think they saved someones life when they pull them over for speeding. The odds of them being right is probably one out of a million.

There you go - they had a few options:
1) escort them to the hospital
2) call for some type of 'animal rescue' ambulance if they didn'T want the guy driving

That cop was being a prick - 'what are you on?' 'It's a damn dog - you can buy another one'
Not saying endangering others on a highway was 'smart' either - just saying the cops could have been a little more sympathetic and done more to help the couple rather than give smartass remarks.

Iīm sure you are never speeding.

And yes, you can kill people when you are driving too fast, but who really cares? 42,636 people died in car crashes in the U.S. in 2004, 55% didnīt use the safety belt.

Obviously the driver did something wrong (which had no consequences), but thatīs no reason to keep him 20 minutes and let his dog die. I wouldnīt have stopped at all, but I canīt imagine how US cops would have react. Maybe there is a difference to Europe.

Exactly, but cops arenīt there for help.:2 cents:

polish_aristocrat 08-25-2008 05:26 AM

I hate dogs personally and I don't have any pets cause I'm allergic so maybe I'm not the right guy to comment but that guy was surely freaking out totally...

he was acting as if his mother or girlfriend was dying

he could have been a danger to other people on the highway...

thunder99 08-25-2008 05:39 AM

The cop was exactly right in what he did. That guy was in no fit state to drive and the cop had a duty to everyone else on the road to make sure he had calmed down before letting him back on the road.

As for people who say that they think of their pets as family members... well that's fine. But to the rest of the world it's a dog and not a valid reason to drive like at 100mph and put peoples life at risk.

tranza 08-25-2008 05:51 AM

That's sick...the guy was desperate...

what do you drive a geo metro? do you know how slow that is lol

L-Pink 08-25-2008 06:02 AM

Something no one has mentioned is knowing basic safety measures for aiding your pet when it has a problem. Dogs eat and swallow lots of things they shouldn't ..... On numerous occasions thru the years I have helped my choking dog dislodge chew toys.

A variation of the The Heimlich maneuver works on dogs also.

Phoenix 08-25-2008 06:04 AM

funny responses..i bet if it was your dog..you all would have had your porches and lambos...sorry scratch that....your pintos and fiats pinned...you probably wouldnt be able to reach 100mph, but youd try...your dog becomes your child, even i know that and i was raised up north where dogs are tools to be used...not just pets.

anyway, the cop chose to be a dick instead of helping out....no worries, he probably injected some more steroids when he got home and beat his wife...so whatever

EvilFubAr 08-25-2008 07:11 AM

People speed all the time, at least he had a reason.

ffnstuff 08-25-2008 07:32 AM

the cop was right to pull him over, but the dog was in fact dying and he was being a massive dick when he was like "oh just buy another one fucker." He should have escorted him to the vet like earlier stated, the guy would of been thankful and would of filled out any tickets he acquired im sure. But to let the thing sit there and die like that is pretty shitty. Putting other peoples live in danger though? negative ... the roads were empty it looked like ..

in another report it said the guy was on the interstate going an estimated 80 MPH , fuck me for going 80 MPH

notoldschool 08-25-2008 07:33 AM

That cop is a Piece of SHIT! "you can get another one" I hope that cop gets ass raped by a pit bull.

interstate speed limits are often 75. Going 80 is not that much faster.

Dogs are animals.

Not humans.

I'll be damned if I am going to get killed, or in a car accident over some person speeding trying to save an animal dressed up in a tuxedo.

See my post above it is 75 for that road and it was right around midnight, hardly anyone was probably on the road.

Angry Jew Cat - Banned for Life 08-25-2008 07:58 AM

that cop had about as much concern about buddy's dog dying as i do cops dying. they're both disposable. so a dog chokes, so what? so a cop gets shot so what? neither one is worth fuck all. what ever happened to just speeding because you're high on crack?

Then why is ok for a COP to drive 120 MPH chasing some peice of shit who stole a pack of stogies from the corner store killing a family as he crashes into them during that chase? I know a few cops who drive like assholes because they can..not to save a human. Alot of cops drive around like mad men off duty knowing nothing will happen. I honestly think a dogs life is more important than a lot of these cops running around today. Not ALL cops are this way but this guy takes the cake with the response he gives. Fuck him and the pathetic training he recieved.

Eva PSC 08-25-2008 08:22 AM

that is so horrible. I remember myself once rushing to a hospital with my just-hit-by-a-car puppy and while I was lucky not to get noticed by cops, I was speeding and driving irrationally but most anyone would in that situation. If there was an emergency mobile service for dogs or if the regular 911 emergency medical people would be willing to help rescue animals, people wouldn't have to drive like mad to get their pet rescued on time.

My puppy survived and is a healthy girl today because she got the medical treatment in time.

I do not think that is ok either. Any of it. Including the preferential treatment.

Unless it's a murderer, rapist, terrorist... there should be no 'hot high speed pursuit' of any kind.
