if you dont have dogs you will never understand. I can say that after not being a dog owner and now being one. I have no doubt Moo would give her life to protect mine without hesitation and there is no human I have the same belief would do that without question.
I read an article about soldiers in iraq and the dogs that work with them. They told a story of two soldiers and their dogs working in a area.A scrap metal bomb went off, hurting one soldier killing the other. The soldier that was hurt told the medic to care for his dog first. He looked over his friend was dead and the friends dogs bleeding from scrap metal all over its body. Was over the the dead soldier protecting it until the dog died himself. The first time I read that story it made me get all misty, there is a reason they are called man's best friend.
I have great respect for the police but I think a good percentage dont join for the purest reasons.

TubeTitans_SusieQ 08-25-2008 08:56 AM

omg thats awful

NickB. 08-25-2008 09:35 AM

first off I would not have gotten any of my dogs in that situation

second off I would have known how to help it

third off yes I would have speeded like a mofo to help it.....

Problem is breaking the law is breaking the law, Im sure the cop regrets it now, but he/she might prevented a bad bad accident.....

Dollarmansteve 08-25-2008 09:51 AM

If the cop was a human being he would have escorted them to the vet and if he wanted to give the guy a ticket after the fact I'm sure he woulnd't have cared. What a fucking sad sack piece of shit cop.

Am glad there are a couple people here with common sense.

Phoenix 08-25-2008 10:14 AM

120 km/h i have to keep slowing down to go that slow

wtf is wrong with you guys? i can go 170 without even realizing it

and i believe he was on a highway with a speed limit of 75 mph?
thats 75X1.6 = 120 km/h
so he was doing the speed limit or about 8 km/h over it

the cop should be fired...lack of judgement

In TX, at night, it is 65. He was doing 100+

We actually agree on something..

Anytime you are in a emergancy situation like that you call 911 and request a escort as you floor the pedal..... As long as you call ahead you will have no problems... But this kids were not thinking... Nor were the cops...

Everyone is at fault in the end... When the guy stopped the first time he should have pulled off the bridge and calmly let the cop know what was happening... But instead the kid decides it is a good idea to try to make it to the hospital with the cherrys going off behond him... Never a good idea, trust me...

Stupid people not working together and using the brain they where born with cost that poor doggy his life.... The dog is the victim here... Not the kids nor the cops... I think they should all be punished with 12 hours with a ball gag in there mouth and some 500lbs mistress controlling a whip on there behinds... That would teach them to use there god dang noggins..

That is a great story, last I read it they were not sure how the baby got there, now they say the dog carried it 50 yards at least.. I wonder if the dog nursed the baby also..

NicAngel 08-25-2008 11:05 AM

Would you still feel this way about the cop if the guy speeding crashed into and killed your mother, father, brother, sister, son or daughter??? And then come to find out later that it was because his dog was choking???? I'm an animal lover and would do anything to save my furry friend but the cop was just doing his job to keep others safe. I agree that pets become like family members but animals don't have a family to support.

:2 cents:

Exactly.

klaze 08-25-2008 11:14 AM

This is the funniest fucking story ever.

People are such idiots.

On a side note i've had a cop pull me over for speeding and let me go because I told him I was trying to make it to the john...

if she would have crashed into a car with KIDS in it I'd want to shoot the chick...

Women can't drive worth shit to begin with... Add "stress" and women REALLY can't drive. Women can't handle pressure. This chick was a driving missile and more dangerous than me driving 10 minutes after finishing 20 shots of tequila. I would bet MONEY I would be a better driver after that many shots than this chick under pressure.

yet if I get into an accident after those shots I get locked up... this chick would get sympathy for a DOG which is replaceable. human life is all that matters and this chick could have seriously hurt somebody.

Watching people drive under the slightest amount of stress is a fucking train wreck.

This dude thought it was ok to run from a cop and almost double the speed limit.

I wonder if he thought it would also be ok to run red lights and cross the yellow line?

I mean common a dog is dying!!!! Fuck I've had dogs my entire life and loved them to death but sorry HUMANS ARE MORE IMPORTANT!

This would have been a good defense for Nick Hogan...

Hooray for some intelligence in this thread.

Couldn't agree more. However, the officer could have escorted them to the vet and ticketed them there. He has already caught him. I've been served tickets later on before, it can be done.

Instead he was a dick about it.

A dying dog is not a reason to risk the lives of other motorists on the highway. The guy was doing over 100mph to get to where he was going. This put many other cars in danger.

And judging by the degree of his panic attack, I would guess that the guy has no control over his emotions, which led to the disregard of the other motorists.

I bet if you asked him who he would save if he could save only one from falling of a cliff, his dog, or a human stranger, he would choose his dog.

This, for lack of a more lengthy description, would be, un-wise.

There are too many un-wise people out there. Don't be one of them!

And one last question to ponder...
Would you be more proud of you son or daughter, if they became a Police Officer or if they worked in the porn industry?

I don't think there is one person anywhere who thinks the guy should not have been pulled over. Of course he should be pulled over, if someone going 100mph isn't pulled over, then the cop isn't doing his job.

However, upon realizing why the car was speeding and the desperate state of the dog's health, the cop's better judgement should have been to empathize with the couple and toss them in the back of the cruiser and go to the vet with the cherry's on. Then he can reprimand the guy for speeding, give him a ticket, throw him in jail, give him a lecture, etc, etc.. maybe then the animal might have had a chance.

The difference here is the cop was a dick - an insensitive ego-maniac control-freak asshole playing God. It's possible the dog would have died anyway, but this piece of shit made sure that the innocent animal, obviously a beloved family pet, never had a chance.

Sure, it's "just a dog", but that dog meant something to these people and this cop only thought of himself. Police Officers are suppsed to be model citizens, this officer's lack of compassion and empathy makes him less than human.

i hate to break it to you footsies, but you don't really have much choice in the matter short of choking on the barrel of your own gun. if fate decides it's so, there's not much you can do to turn it back. plenty of people die some shitty deaths. you think elvis wanted to crap out on the crapper? probably not :upsidedow

No.

He was enforcing the law.

We do not have "animal right of way" that trumps the life and safety of other fucking humans.

No, that would be incorrect.

I do not pay taxes for law enforcement to be a pet taxi.

There are plenty of things, in this city I live in, that require police assistance more than being an animal ambulance. Their response times to most things are already slow as hell. As in most cities.
