YAPPO Dollars - BS Sponsor.
Ok, somebody recommended this, and on the face of things it looked very good.
They offer Video on Demand, and a whitelabel for it. Well customizable from a web interface, nats powered, so it seemed all sweet and I decided to give it a try. One minor point, namely, that the highlight text color you can choose, however, it has to go on two different sets of backgrounds, one you can modify, the other you can't, it;'s a sort of greyish thing. I suppose this can turn out to be a pain, but I managed to circumvent it. Designed a nice logo, etc. So far, I'm about 3 hours of work invested into trying out this sponsor, so like 50 bucks. (not MY work). They send me an email saying the whitelabel is confirmed, and a link to it. It looks really snappy, so I send traffic. Few hours later, whoop-dee-doo... It doesn't track anything. So that traffic's lost. So I pull the links, and I inquire with their support. At this point, I have no idea what's going on, total rip off artists ? Something went wrong accidentally ? I fucked up the codes ? So Kristin comes back with Quote:
I check the new link, IT DOES NOT WORK. Instead of redirecting to my whitelabel, it redirects to their main site. And obviously NOT MY NATS CODES. Yuck. So I email back, at which point the woman asks for my password. What the hell ? But anywya, I change the pw to something inocuos, and give her that. She comes back with Quote:
I check it. This time it seems to work. So I figure, heck, okay, their slow day today. I plug it, it works, it tracks, I go to bed. The next morning, on a lark, I check. Get this. The url NO LONGER GOES TO MY WHITELABEL, but back to their main site, like before. NATS wiped, like before. See, so at this point, it becomes clear to me what's going on. Links may not work, things may fuck up, accidents do happen. Sure. However, things that work at night don't just stop working by themselves. So I send them a polite email telling them I'm not impressed, and an invoice, for the traffic they've received, but not counted cca 95$. Nothing for worktime they wasted, or for my aggravation, etc. To the first, the response comes Quote:

:321GFY Far as I'm concerned, Yappo needs to fire whoever is doing this shit and hire actual people. That's all. |
ouch ...

You were using a WL link that does not track clicks. You wanted to directly link to a movie and track clicks.
With the NATS system and our WL I said you could track clicks but NOT to individual movies. I said I'd have programming look at adding this feature. You came back with "oh it was my mistake." You were still using the original linking code that I told you did not track clicks so you could link to the movie. I told you several, several times that to track clicks going to individual movies will not work with the NATS URL. You continued to link to the movie using the non-NATS link that you were fully aware did not track clicks. You then invoiced me for $97.50 for your traffic and time spent. THAT was funny. |
Not going to get involved this looks ugly.
|
jesus christ. get a fucking life already.
|
If you start invoicing programs for time spent on stuff that doesnt work, you are gonna end up with a huge accounts payable department that will never eventually get resolved.
Yappo is a great program and have gone out of their way to help me promote their stuff, through years and years in the industry. You might want to watch where you start burning bridges.....or you're gonna get stuck in your island. |
baahahaha... I don't come here that often, but this thread is pretty funny...
it's so painfully obvious fluffygrrl is a complete retard... now I remember why I don't come here that often... |
So let me get this straight... You want to use a feature, special to yappodollars, in an even more special way, then Kristin tried to work with you - you continued to do it wrong, and then came here and bitched?
Is that what I'm to understand the "issue" is? |
PLease tell me you really didnt send an invoice for traffic wasted. That just simply cant be true. If that works, plz advise, I think im a millionaire at this point. Later tonight Im gonna read this thread cause I have a feeling after I smoke this will be just mad funny. Oh and Kristin, that cigar is too big for your mouth....lol

You mean I can invoice programs and programmers for traffic sent and time spent on things that did not work out how I had hoped.
OH BOY... a lot of you fuckers will be getting bills soon :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh |

fluffygrrl no one has taken you seriously in the 2 years you've been posting here, don't expect them to now.
|
who do I invoice for the time I wasted reading this thread?
|
This thread anti-delivers...

If a sponsor wipes my nats code, I'll send them a bill. Not that I expect someone flaky enough to do that in the first place to pay their bills, but hey. |

When did I talk about VOD being unique to Yappo? And NATS is unique to Yappo, Yappo has many features no other NATS program has or will ever have. Like your ability to track clicks like Kristin is showing you is unique to Yappo and no other NATS program. |

I couldn't even pay it if I wanted to as she only provided a Paypal address. And if I did pay it the email stated "so we can part on amiable terms, and we will make no public mention of this entire debacle. You have until 5PM, GMT." They must not know my accounting department, we only send out payments on Thursdays if we receive the invoice by Wednesday at 9a. And cigars are good. : ) |
Quote:
Now that's true, the ability to track clicks by not tracking them altogether like Kristin's been showing me is absolutely unique to yappo, cause I've never heard of another nats system doing it... at least not for long. |

You might start with reading your own post, plus the emails/icq's back in forth with Kristen and others. ok wait, dont stop yet... now... read them again and finally read them one more time. Clearly you wanted to do something that with the current system isnt possible (linking directly to a title), but yet Kristen said she would see if it could be set up. Clearly you have never worked within the NATS back end and have no clue how things work and/or how to get new features added. There is no magic button to push and viola the new feature is added. NATS comes with a standard install and basic features, all other features are add ons that have to be programmed into the existing system by a NATS programmer. This is why some programs offer features that others dont. Now, that I have spent a few moments of my valuable time, where I can I invoice you at. I figure $1500.00 US should cover it $100.00 for a NATS Education, discounted 50 bucks from their normal price $400.00 for my time. I'm expensive but worth it $1000.00 for dealing with a pissy ass, know nothing, whiny punk bitch |

I'm glad to see Kristin gets around, I'm glad to see she's got a long icq list. We're not discussing that. Or at least, I am not. So, to try and get back to the issues, as they are : Issue nr 1 : Upon registering a new WL site, the webmaster is, or at least was, sent an email, containing a NON TRACKING LINK to said WL. Issue nr 2 : The WL customization does allow for changing the highlights color, and the background color, however, highlights are displayed in places where the background can not be customized. There's a shitload more issues, about how links that used to redirect to a wl magically change and just redirect to yappo.com, and about magically dissapearing, and magically replaced nats codes, but for somebody with $100 worth of nats understanding, those may be a tad too advanced. |
Actually I didn't ICQ anyone this thread except my boss to give him a heads up.
We try and stay away from this publicity, so I doubt I'd really ICQ anyone about this. |

But I CAN clearly read, understand and comprehend the post Kristen made in this very thread stating you were trying to link directly to a video... Quote:
Quote:
But back to the main issue at hand here, were you linking using the correct code once they got it for you, or were you still attempting to link directly to a title? If still linking to a title, without the proper programming NATs will not read this correctly and will not carry the code. Quote:

Before I start.. Are you serious about the color changes? Really? Did you ask if they could change it? I don't think you have done much WL work in the past. Clearly not.
And here we go... You didn't swap your links out. You kept using the domain.wl.yappo urls which do not track clicks. Nobody is ripping you off, sales are tracked - clicks aren't. This works like a direct linking code for 'all nats programs', which do not track clicks but do track sales. No other nats program can track direct links like Yappo$ can. The default wl codes track sales perfectly fine - just not clicks. Nothing wrong with that. Do I need to say it again? Sometimes it's better if I word in differently. The full redirect links for the WL, DO drop your nats code but that's because it hardcodes the damn thing into the entire site for you. So you could directly promote the tour (not get clicks tracked) but still track sales. The warning page issue/error - does NOT steal sales, since it's an actual error from your cookies, the warning page isn't clickable. Since NATS created the system, they know of the error, and have been working to correct it. It happened because she gave you the wrong nats code within the wl tracking code at first, then a correct one. Being so this creates a cross cookie issue - which errors to the warning page. It's unique only to you because the org nats code was wrong. Try deleting your cookies. Or asking next time. Kristin admits she made a mistake on the first code, she pulled the wrong one from the admin. Which is why she asked you for your pw (since we can't see them in nats). Once she was in your account, she could 'create' you a trackable wl code, which she did. This code was tested, it worked, and it was sent to you. Are you still confused about anything? |
Okay let me clear up the email part ... When your site is approved you are sent an email with your link to the WL. It's sitename.wl.yappo.com. These do not track. When we first had our WL created, this was our only system.
I then worked with NATS to get them tracking through their system. Well after we had thousands of WLs created. The email has not been updated and I told her that. I apologize, I'm busy. I have the email being re-written. |
Now for the color part ... You have the highlights the same colors as the header, that's why you can't see some highlights.
I'll give you the CSS and you can pretty it up as much as you want and send it back. But we offer these ones to our webmasters and most are pretty happy with the changes you can make. |

Yup, this is just the best thread ever after smoking....I figured. Plz keep it going!
PS....Kristin marry me. |
Yappo has a nice vod program
but the truth to the matter is any time you create something you shoud test it to confirm it works correctly before promoting or giving to affiliates to promote...lol XonDemand tracks hits on co'brands... ;- ) |
is this thread serious? or is this a joke lol
|
Can someone cliffnote fatgirl idiot's posts because Yappo white label kicks ass... :pimp

Most recently I signed up to XOXO Leah and started pushing her site. A few days I checked stats only to discover I had sent all of three hits. Something wasn't right. I started looking around and it turns out I made a simple mistake in the link which was my fault. I fucked up, and I sent traffic that wasn't tracked.
I sure as fuck didn't send them an invoice for the traffic I sent, nor did I got on a board and bitch about it. Wait, in fact, I did make a thread about (on another board). The title of the thead was "I fucked up". Your typical of the a society that wants to blame everyone else for their fuckups. |
thanks for the :1orglaugh :1orglaugh
|
I'm soo fucking pissed off that my WL is currently getting 1:25! and Kristin totally helped me set it up so she's totally at fault!
Hahaha, oh man. Although it doesn't track the clicks it surely still does track the sales. I'm soo happy with mine even though I haven't really thrown a lot of traffic at it to see it's real potential. I actually forgot about it and noticed this thread so I looked up what it's making and yep, 1:25 at the moment! :thumbsup for Yappo and Kristin :thumbsup BTW... FuckHoles.org |
