Do you know HTML - yes or no? 2007 edition

do you know HTML?

eroswebmaster 07-01-2007 03:34 AM

For the most part yes...but using dreamweaver I get lazy and forget some basic stuff all the time.

Now I'm going to sit back and wait for the responses from others...because I'm sure my posting an answer to your question will somehow prove I'm stalking Zoe.

wyldworx 07-01-2007 03:35 AM

there is always more for me to explore with all code structuring, but i am getting more knowledgable as I go.

Kevsh 07-01-2007 05:01 AM

I've been using HomeSite for as long as I can remember - I've never, ever touched DreamWeaver or any other program like it. I like clean code, by hand, and the Snippets helps preserve for future use.

andromeda9 07-01-2007 05:19 AM

vote for HomeSite!

The original Homesite had nothing to do with Dreamweaver and is a handcoding tool. No WYSIWIG. The original Homesite does count!

Penny24Seven 07-01-2007 05:19 AM

I write it all by hand using html kit

Oracle Porn 07-01-2007 05:20 AM

I understand html and know some....but I use frontpage and edit the shit code out afterwards....that's the easiest way for me....

dynastoned 07-01-2007 05:22 AM

RayBonga 07-01-2007 06:21 AM

Yes, I used to write my first sites with notepad.

Haven't done it much recently though so I guess I'm out of date.

wyldworx 07-01-2007 06:24 AM

ok, i use this handy little html tool, but it does nothing in the way of build it for you bar the basics. i just like the use-ability for use of a better term. It has a built in browser (esko) and assists in correcting where a syntax error can be amended. It is called easyHTML by some guy/girl called ToniArts.

Radiate 07-01-2007 06:25 AM

<yes></iknowhtml>

Mr. Mojo Risin 07-01-2007 06:28 AM

yeah, but I use Dreamweaver, but I often edit the generated code by hand.

StuartD 07-01-2007 06:55 AM

Write it all, as well as CSS and PHP by hand... if it doesn't verify as html and css w3c valid, then it's not good enough.

Really? And does it work for you? Usually Dreamweaver stuff can not be edited manually because its such a horrible code that if you touch it you usually break it.

Basic_man 07-01-2007 07:16 AM

It's ridiculous to build a website all by the code. I use DW to build everything, then edit the code just how I like it. It takes 5 minutes to do what it take 3h to code!

Miguel T 07-01-2007 07:17 AM

Yes, I do.

bl4h 07-01-2007 07:19 AM

Do you know how much money googles saves by not using valid html....

Boobs 07-01-2007 07:56 AM

Same here.. Been hand coding our sites since 1995, and hate the WYSIWYG editors.

rolfodolfo 07-01-2007 08:43 AM

I don't care about anyone else's sites... when I create code, it has to validate or else it's not good enough.

J. Falcon 07-01-2007 09:59 AM

Not really.

"java" or "javascript" ?

as they're two totally different things.

F U S I O N 07-01-2007 10:10 AM

I only use notepad. I learned by looking at source codes and playing around with the tables. I was going to give Dreamweaver a shot a while back but gave up on the idea. Seemed like a waste of time to learn a new program that does what I already know how to do...
