Who Is The Greatest Qb Of All-time
My Friends And I Have Been Arguing This Topic In Drunken Rage For Days...need To Know Others' Opinions.... I Think Joe Montana Followed By Tom Brady And Then Steve Young...what Do You Think?
|
I would say:
1. Joe Montana 2. Johnny Unitas 3. Brett Favre 4. Troy Aikman 5. Steve Young |
Aikman? Maybe Playoff Qb
|
P. Manning
Montana Favre Marino Bart Star |
Honestly you have to say Marino. He holds an incredible amount of records but was never given the team around him to win it all. Give him the Dallas team that Aikman had and he'd win the SB. Give him either of the 49er teams that Young or Montana had an he'd win the SB. Hell make him the QB in Buffalo instead of Jim Kelly and they would have won 4 in a row instead of lose 4. :2 cents:

Joe Montana
|
Good Point On Marino....but Still Never Won
|
Quote:
6. Tom Brady 7. Dan Marino 8. John Elway 9. Payton Manning 10. Randall Cunningham (he paved the way for the new generation running quarterback) |

With Joe montana a close second as he was able to win period. |

By the end of Peyton's career, there will be no doubt he's the greatest QB ever.
|
yes Joe Montana is the greatest QB ever
|
You guys are obviously too young to have this conversation, or you should reword it to, Who is the greatest QB in your lifetime?
|
Rex Grossman :1orglaugh :1orglaugh
|
Roger Staubach and Troy Aikman would both be on my list
|
The only time I really took an interest in American Football was in the early 90's I think (might be late 80's). The names I remeber are Dan Marino, Joe Montana, Jay Schraeder (sp?), John Elway.
So Im definately not the one to ask. (also remember the fridge, the ikky stomp?, Mike Ditka, Jerry Rice, and that fugly who made some crappy films called boz). |
the icky shuffle.........and stone cold with the boz ruled:321GFY :1orglaugh

Terry Bradshaw should be thrown in there as well as Roger Staubach
|
Broadway Joe Namoth
|
Dan Marino
John Elway Joe Montana Terry Bradshaw Brett Favre |
as much as i hate marino he has to be in the top 5.. of most peoples list.
elway, montana, young, UNITAS and dont forget Fran Tarkenton |
Fran Tarkenton could scramble like no one else.
|
id go for Joe Montana.. even if he doesnt really win..

Aikman, you must be tripping. Steve Young shouldnt be in the top 5 either. Dan Marino should defintely be up there before both. |

Bradshaw's stats actually suck except he has 4 rings. Peyton mannings at 64% completions which is the highest in NFL history ! Some of the big name QB's are just that Big Names because they won some super bowls but their stats aren't the best ! |

Either Montana or Terry Bradshaw.
|
Montana for me
|
john elway!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
brett favre no. 2 |
It is way to hard to really measure, specially with the sheer number of rule changes that have gone into effect since the late seventies early eighties. I am not to sure if some of the listed top QB's stats or longevity would of been as good as they are if everyone played under the same rules.
|
Joe Montana
Then.... Dan Marino John Elway Fran Tarkenton Tom Brady Peyton Manning |

I think separately Dan Marino but since he was so greedy they never could geta good team for him to do anything with.
So his flaw was greed not skill. |
