Michelle Wie really showed her age yesterday

Not so much that she messed up on Sat and thus got DQ'ed on Sunday. She clearly did mess that up. Its a dumb rule but so are half the rules of golf. They are there for consistancy.

But did you see her about to break down in tears at the press conference and she wouldnt admit she fucked up. I already am over her.

Take your 10 mil check from endorsements this year and relax. You'll end up being the best american female golfer in atleast 10 years...maybe ever.

PenisFace 10-17-2005 05:31 AM

I'd hit it.

Her caddy should have knew and warned her, in the first place.

kmanrox 10-17-2005 07:03 AM

i woulda hit it 3 years ago, nugga what?

~Ray 10-17-2005 07:44 AM

A reporter who saw the whole thing alerted the LPGA and when they analyzed it and realized what happened, she was disqualified. She should have called for an official, or at least the player she was paired with before taking the drop to make sure she was doing it right and it all would have been avoided. Just young and inexperienced. With her endorsements, I doubt she is going to miss the 55k pay day.

Screaming 10-17-2005 07:53 AM

damn that sucks but i mean she is young she lessons have to be learned

BuggyG 10-17-2005 08:17 AM

ohhhhhhhhh.... so that's what an illegal drop means

not a golfer.. so had no idea what the hell they were talking about this morn on the radio about that

LiveDose 10-17-2005 08:20 AM

They will tear her up for a little while but she is going to be kicking butt for years to come...

~Ray 10-17-2005 08:48 AM

they want her to cry... older hate young success

tony286 10-17-2005 08:55 AM

she is just a kid for christs sake too too young to be playing pro sports. If the pros want her now they will want her when she is 18 or 21

OMG Jim 10-17-2005 09:29 AM

Michelle is to the LPGA what Anna was to women's tennis.
You think she'll CHOKE on the big ones too ????

The best new women's golfer is named Morgan ... not Michelle.

I'm not a golfer either so that cleared it up for me as well :thumbsup

Manowar 10-17-2005 11:01 AM

i dont like her

casiragi 10-17-2005 11:16 AM

whats an illigal drop.what like she isnt 18 yet heh uh that was stupid.I gotta go.

BlueWire 10-17-2005 11:19 AM

I thought it was a huge bonehead move. Yes, she should have gotten an office...but look at the replace. She dropped it parralel to the bush...and then in the direction of the hole. They say it was a foot closer but i think it was like 3-5 feet closer.

But like i said...live and learn...thats not what is bothersome. Its that she passed the blame in her press conference. She more or less said she thought she didnt do anything wrong but I'm sure she's played 10 times more golf than me and I could clearly see what she did

JOELK 10-17-2005 11:29 AM

I feel bad for that girl. Having to talk to the media is a pain in the ass for adults let alone a fifteen year old.

She chose her destiny. Unlike a lot of other situations, she didnt have parents forcing her hand to go pro. She's the one who says she can win as a pro. She's the one who thinks she can beat men DESPITE NOT EVEN BEING ABLE TO WIN JUNIOR EVENTS :)

All i'm saying is...she wants to be treated and paid like an adult...she's in the adult world of sports. So time to act like an adult fair or not

chowda 10-17-2005 11:37 AM

ohh WIE Wie

You can as an emancipated minor in most states and you can become one as young as 14.

boneprone 10-17-2005 07:31 PM

The Captain 10-17-2005 07:34 PM

I think the real "child" in all this though was the sport illustrated reporter that went beyond his duties of reporting to become a tattle tail

gecko 10-17-2005 08:35 PM

Some little bastard reported her, or they would have never knew in the first place

This thread is useless without pics :)

DTK 10-17-2005 08:55 PM

regardless of the events of the weekend, only injuries or disinterest will keep her from securing a place among the elite. her skill level is off the charts, especially considering her age.

thats a pretty bad anology. Is she not more of an investment? Her sponsors aren't stupid, I'm sure they realize that she's gonna fuck up a few times with media, and in tourny's n stuff.

If Microsoft hired an exceptional 16 year old, I doubt that would make ANY difference on MY expectations of how I conduct MYSELF.

What was your point again?

She is not emancipated. So your point is?

cool1g 10-17-2005 09:35 PM

the one thing that annoys me about this is the reporter who saw the possible infraction could have said something on Sat when it happened and she would have not be DQ. he waiting until AFTER the tournament was over, 'because it was bothering him' before he told the tournament officials. at least give her a chance to take the 2 shot penalty on the day it occurred....that guys is a cheeseball!

Babagirls 10-17-2005 09:41 PM

this thread sucks without pics ;)

My point is why hold her to a lower standard cuz she's young. And i think people are missing the point. What got under my skin was by no means that she messed up scoring herself. It was that in her press conference she took no responsibility...

She said and i roughly quote "If I had it to do over again I would have dropped it the same way because I thought I was right" ...there might be a few pronouns out of place but thats what she said.

I think the SI reporter is a huge ass though. Thats not his job
