TGP with flash (example)
Live Thumbs = flash tgp.
I've been surfing alot of tgps and they all look the same. So I had this idea of rotating thumbs to give the surfer a better idea of what kind of gallery he's gonna see. If you like the thumb, it doesn't mean the surfer will also like it, so this gives him a sort of choice. Let me know what you think about it. P.s. if anyone with traffic wants to try it out let me know. |
Interesting

looks cool to me...
|
looks nice...
|
I like it!
|
Looks nice... but will never work because ppl will leave your site before it loads.

Nice,
How do you feed the pics to the flash file? is it a TEXT only file , an rss, custom XML or a WSDL? :thumbsup |
I like it ... gives a a second look and makes it interesting .... if nothing else it will keep them there fucking around with it till they find what they like :thumbsup

And the site would load by sections, so the main thing is to make the top section as small as possible, and the surfer can enjoy the top section while the buttom ones load. |
I like it a lot :thumbsup
|
I would suggest putting a small preloader game to keep the surfer occupied while it loads. Even something as simple as a cock that is controlled by the mouse that moves in and out of a pussy.

I have very little knowledge with action scripting and I've done all of that by hand, manually. I am going to find a better way to include trading script and inserting of the thumbs. |

Interesting idea. I'd have the girls face to begin with and more of an action shot on mouseoever. Looks good though.
|
Interesting idea but load times like that are not nice - one for the future I would say :)
|
You're wasting your time, it will be a failure :2 cents:

lol you can really encourage someone ;) care to say why? |
Looks good to me, atleast your trying something new. :thumbsup

looks very nice, gluck to anyone who wanna try this
|
IMO it looks very nice. My question is, what does someone see that does not have flash installed? I guess there also should be an HTML version. This means a lot more work than a conventional TGP.
|
Very nice work! It's great to see someone who can think for themselves for a change. At times it seems this industry is plagued with a "sheep mentality" where everyone just follows a few industry leaders.
BTW, I also like this idea: Quote:

We have done stuff like this (not tgp's...but pulling pics dynamically into flash) using Flash Remoting with php and/or XML....
So this is very doable. Problem is the load times and % of surfers that wont put up with FLASH |
It might work
|
Thanks Jake and everyone for comments!
There is a very small % of people who do not have flash installed. http://www.macromedia.com/software/p...s/flashplayer/ - Might not be 100% accurate but still gives you an idea. |
very nice work Art. will ensure great click through ratios.
|
I think its a great idea. Certainly will apeal to some.
Question: What "genre" of TGP would that be? "Babes" or ??? |

It really doesn't have a genre right now, just a test with random thumbs. |
not bad at all

Good idea but it doesn't need to be in Flash..
A single Mouseover will loads way faster and will be more convenient to update IMHO |
I would say that These days if you do not have AT LEAST Flash Player 6, is because you have : a piece of Shit Connection and a Piece of Shit Computer.
You cannot stop creating new ways to promote your stuff because of those people!! If you create Something like that, and make it work with Dynamic Images, make sure you save it as Flash MX and using ActionScript 1.0... |

BTW: The submitter would have to create 2 thumbs, right?
|
looking good.. i think it's neat

If you are going to go the flash route, i'd do more with it. A fade between two thumbs probably isn't enough of a change to set it apart especially for the extra loading. The trick is to do more but without turning it into a mammoth flash file. I'd also suggest going into some kind of niche with it and not being everything to everyone. Give users a higher end verion of what they particularly want to see... if thats centrefold models then so be it.
I'd offer more flashbased stuff - screen savers based on promo content that you have to click to stop and theres two links - one to the sponsor and one back to desktop. branded wallpapers etc.. Look into something happening on mouseover as well as a switch... like a mouse over brings up a 3 buttons, story, gallery and site.. or something better cause hitting a thumb brings up all three on a gallery. hehe. i dunno. think a little bit more about how to set it apart. One of the best things will be the ease of rich media advertising integration. which is the way i'd be looking at it. ads based on the y position of your mouse following you down the page.. nipples on an ad pointing towards your mouse..seamless video ad integration. I'd like to see something like this work, but i have seen people attempt them in the past.. You're definately not going to compete with the big tgp's, it's probably going to be harder to integrate with trade scripts no doubt, and chug the server with decent amounts of traffic..so i guess it's about offering a premium level service to people looking for one particular thing and doing it well because style isn't enough, it has to offer the surfer more or give them easier ways to do things.. the flip side of it is that even if it isn't as good for a surfer to use you might make a high enough percentage more from trickier advertising to cancel it out. *shrugs* |
I'd probably look into a hybrid tgp where 90% of it is the usual but the top ten paid spots are flash enabled to really stand out..
Personally i'd just like to see more tgp's accept flash on galleries or sponsor banners on the main listing. |
maybe some kind of flashcom chat with a flash bot that spams links to the best galleries...
