I have never tasted deep fried turkey...in fact..up until a couple years ago I had no idea that anyone did that. I'm still trying to figure out how you get the middle cooked without the outside getting burnt/dried out.

you heat the oil up to 180 or so degrees, when you drop the turkey in, slowly i might add. a seal( or a crust, but NOT BURNT) is instantly formed around the entire turkey. That in inself holds the juices in and they will not escape. when you cut into the turkey it is all juices, NOT OIL. another good idea is using injecting marinade. mmm mmmmmmmm :glugglug :thumbsup

loudmouth 11-25-2004 04:21 PM

you got enough $$$ for a turkey or your feonsay got it at a charity place?

we are going 350 @ 3 mins per lb

one of the wonderfull things of doing this is it takes on the adv 40 mins to cook a bird instead of all day. we injected this bird with an entire bottle of turkey marinate, and it will be sooooo good

Interesting concept. If it's not all greasy (yes I read the explanation) then maybe it's good.

On the other hand....I see a store-bought pie (non pumpkin) in one of those pics.

Kinda lookin' like a McThanksgiving.....

There's a thing called tradition, and that's a flavour I like.

Maybe smoking pot in a house with kids is a new thanksgiving tradition.
