Why do you think of these "Mini Coopers"

I see em all over here now , but it looks like a death trap if you get into a accident,

Cute car but i dont know about it being safe.,...

Anyone own one?

Peaches 08-27-2004 09:01 AM

I don't know about crash test data but they are bigger inside then they look from the outside.

Not enough horsepower to ever make it up my driveway, so no, I don't have one. :winkwink:

FrankWhite 08-27-2004 09:02 AM

car for gay people.

my buddy's got one... and they're not bigger inside than they look from the outside. I can't fit in the passenger seat and I'm 6'2"

myneid 08-27-2004 09:03 AM

juicy,
you need to learn the difference between when, where, why and how.

the mini coopers have a bunch of safety crap in them so that they arent death traps but they are probably more dangerous than driving a car.

the sports ones are pretty fun to drive casue they are fast.

Well, to ME they were bigger inside - then again, I'm just 5 feet tall :thumbsup

boneprone 08-27-2004 09:04 AM

I think they are sweet. Pretty cool.. You have to buy a pair of em though..

Just like a 17 year old gal, I dont think id ever buy one, but I like to look at em. Not sure Id ever put myself in the situation to go inside one.

Although it would be fun.

The S variation packs almost 170 HP into that tiny little body. They've even got a Rally Edition with a more rugged suspension and a few extra ponies.

loll

I think it looks like more of a secondary type "fun" car for most people rather than a primary car

someone needs to post the pic of the destroyed hummer - these Minis are quite safe, no need to worry. Lots of them over here. it's not my style but they're good cars.

Tera 08-27-2004 09:12 AM

They are alright, I drove one one time, the one I drove sucked going over bumps and stuff.

The seats move up down and back and forth, for the taller people adjust the seat to sit way down into the car, almost all the way to the floor.

I have a very little dick - some might even call it a clitoris, I know I do :)

I have big tits though. :thumbsup

Minte 08-27-2004 09:13 AM

I've got an 04' CooperS. I'm 6' tall and it's very comfortable. The car handles like it's on rails..it has brakes that will toss you through the windshield if you don't have your seatbelt on.The safety aspect is relative. If you hit a semi in a hummer you're probably just as dead as if you would hit an SUV with the Cooper. But handling is the key...i would much prefer to avoid a collision than to survive it.
I bought the Cooper for a track car..and it delivers.

With 170 and front wheel drive, it might actually make it up :)

mini coopers are pretty nice............if your using it for a golf cart:thumbsup

hilly 08-27-2004 01:52 PM

I used to drive an old Mini Cooper, much smaller than this model.
I cant tell you much about this version, but the old mini cooper was great to drive in big cities, and easy to park. Very small so they dont take up much room. They were very poular with the Japs.

cherrylula 08-27-2004 01:53 PM

My SUV bumper is strategically mounted at the perfect height and angle to put dents in those things.

I bet a shopping cart going about 10 mph in a parking lot would do a world of damage. Will let you know. :Graucho

Indeed 08-27-2004 01:53 PM

...its more or less like a gokart...:1orglaugh

I think that's what a lot of people around here are doing with them. We have two cars even though I rarely drive anywhere off the island and my husband doesn't drive to work (bus and ferry). We have a truck for hauling and for camping, etc. I have a small car that we both drive around the island. It's great on gas and easy to park in small spaces. I know lots of people here with a mini that love them. I'm not convinced I want one yet though. :)

elaborate 08-27-2004 02:00 PM

I just bought one yesterday:winkwink: .. Very safe car, very fast too

:thumbsup :thumbsup

Hmm, the car looks very light so I guess the thing can really take off if you floor it :glugglug
