Are YOU ready for SP2 ?

I'm suprised the sponsors haven't started changing programs yet.

There isnt many ways around the built in popup blocker. ( infact none that i could find )

But there is another way ( i may release a public version soon , but its worth to much $$ right now )

Anyone interested in getting the sp2 final ??

DOWNLOAD IT HERE

But be prepared its about 250 mb

NoCarrier 08-12-2004 06:51 PM

It is the SP2 consumer version?

.:St Ides:. 08-12-2004 06:53 PM

That one was glitchy , this one is a final.

If you get into troubles just go into safe mode with command prompt run the uninstall sp2

Lace 08-12-2004 06:56 PM

did you have to reinstall xp to fix the blue screen problem?

bjjb 08-12-2004 06:58 PM

More and more mainstream sites are going to a streaming-like graphic popup. Not sure whats its called but not even google bar or sp2 can stop the fucker. Guess the adult industry will have to adopt that in the near future to make sure that they can continue to make money from popups. But what the fek do I know? im a n00b :1orglaugh

fr8 08-12-2004 06:59 PM

Im sure some flaws will be found in it. Just give it some time.

Nope..just used Norton Go back and it was back to normal...thank god

SmokeyTheBear 08-12-2004 07:01 PM

I just installed this version on a small 11 computer network, we only ran into problems with one of them.

Thing to do before install:

1. Turn on System Restore

2. Turn off updates

never played with system restore, how does it work? when a system gets into problems/blue screen it restored last workable configuration?
you think if i won't turn system restore on and run into problems with the sp2 i could just reinstall windows?

it generally asks you if it encounters an error or prompt's you if you load in "safe mode" (f8)

You can always do that :) but thats the worst case scenario in any option

SmokeyTheBear 08-12-2004 07:13 PM

No stand alone, and with the way its integrated into Windows I doubt there ever will be

sumphatpimp 08-12-2004 07:26 PM

if you get the urge to install SP2,
step away from the machine,
have a good stiff drink and sit quitely.
the feeling will pass.

2. Signature rules. Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of default size and color.
New as of 1/1/2003: if your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, you may use a 468x60 instead of a 120x60. Yes there is a reason this is so big. Also putting your text in a cell and making it look like a button is against the rules. Let me repeat... A 120 x 60 button and no more that 3 lines of DEFAULT SIZE AND COLOR text.

mardigras 08-12-2004 07:39 PM

I think I'll download this when it's on the Windows Update page:2 cents:

Yes s is the firewall and auto-update

korzon 08-12-2004 07:50 PM

i will be unaffected muahahahha :glugglug

http 08-12-2004 07:55 PM

I'll wait untill I have my current work results uploaded. I have a feeling SP2 will fuck up a thing or two, but I am definately getting it, for the working WPA support alone.

Got me a wireless router a few weeks ago and had to find out that old XP doesn't fully support WPA yet (SP2 does). And I didn't want to use WEP encryption so every 15 yo. can look into my harddrive and where I am surfing at

woj 08-12-2004 08:47 PM

I installed it few days ago, it apears pretty solid...
no problems at all so far... :thumbsup

when you first run the sp2 it will popup a window asking to set your security

It has 4 things i think

firewall

auto-update

popup blocker

system restore

they are all checked by default..
