Does a full moon really effect people?

I was jogging on the beach tonight and noticed the tides are really weird and the people at the bars were jumping earlier than usual. On the drive back to the crib there was traffic and people driving crazy so it leaves me to believe it effects our inner tides. Anyway, just thought I'd share that with ya:2 cents:

MrIzzz 06-02-2004 08:02 PM

definietly brings the wolf out in people...i've always noticed more fights and crazy shit whenever i've gone out on full moon nights

Elli 06-02-2004 08:02 PM

That's "affect". It has an "effect" on people, in other words, it "affects" them.

Yes, I think it does. Ask anyone who has worked in an ER.

eroswebmaster 06-02-2004 08:02 PM

Ask the police and hospitals...they seem to see an increase in biz.

freeadultcontent 06-02-2004 08:03 PM

No it doesnt.
People just seem to recall wierd shit happening on a full moon since it is not a daily occurance. Stats are always the same though in their areas full moon or not. This is backed up by ER reports etc.

If you ask cops or ER staff the will tell you that it definetly affects people.

Yup just because they have something different to associate it with. People are funny that way. Reports show otherwise of course.

smokingdawn 06-02-2004 08:07 PM

People do get weird under a full moon

What he said. If something crazy happened 2 years ago on a full moon night, people will tend to remember that there was a full moon that night. They won't remember if it was a quarter or new moon, because that detail isn't interesting.

Pornwolf 06-02-2004 08:10 PM

Definitely. A full moon is the best time to get some new pussy in my experience.

Here in Scottsdale, When there is a huge full moon that appears lower to the Earth's surface it looks creepy and people do seem more hyped up.

StuartD 06-02-2004 08:14 PM

Does this make affect you? :)

I got this pic of the moon last night.

freeadultcontent 06-02-2004 08:17 PM

Also just to show how damn stupid our minds are.
Simple little test.
When the moon is full or looks really big or close. Go stand on stable ground and twist yourself so your looking at it upside down. You will quickly see it go back to its normall small ass looking self.

NO!! I just watched a show on this the other day. It was pretty funny. I can't remember it in detail but they were interviewing people who believe it does, including the ER, and then the people who do not believe it does. It was pretty interesting and by the end of the show the case that was made for it not affecting people totally blew away the people who believe it did.

But here's a link to myths that I thought was interesting.

This would have been a good question to ask either Jack the Ripper or Ted Bundy.

:)

Jill_J 06-02-2004 09:04 PM

I think, yes... The full mon may effect on those people who are more sensitive to any natural changes :)

Not sure, but I do get all hairy, grow fangs and want to kill people once a month.

Come to think of it, that might just be my wife's period causing all that...

SlickRick 06-02-2004 09:15 PM

Humans are like 75% water. If a full moon raises the tides, I think that it has some affect on people...deep thoughts...lol

Very good point...

It's crazy that I had this same exact convo about the moon about an hour before I saw this thread...

SleazyDream 06-02-2004 09:40 PM

sometimes you just gota stop and take in the beauty of where you are at that moment!

studio 06-02-2004 10:05 PM

yes it does... I worked at the local racetrack and on full moon night the drivers are 10 times more agressive on the track & the parties in the pit area after the races last longer than normal...

freeadultcontent 06-02-2004 10:06 PM

And no matter how much hard data people will get, they will refuse to alter their beliefs. Tsk Tsk.

hearing people spew bs like this is almost painful :2 cents:

i hate these wiccans / related retards who think that chunks of rock floating around in space hundreds of millions of miles away (or worse, where they happened to be when you slid out of your mothers vagina) affects your personality.
:feels-hot can we please start teaching critical thinking in school?

the moon affects the tides because of gravity. not magic.
80% of the planet is covered in water. that's a huge mass.
however your body only has a few quarts; not enough mass to be affected.
even if ... the only affect it could have would be to make you weigh (insignificantly) less.

You do not have 'inner tides' ... bunch of hippy nonsense. :disgust

reynold 06-02-2004 10:21 PM

It was said that full moon does have some effect on people.

It was also said the world was flat.

PiTaAnGeL 06-02-2004 10:27 PM

I worked in the behavioral health field for a year with people who suffered from mental illnesses like schizophrenia, depression and bipolar disorders. I did notice that when there was a full moon that we were receiving more crisis calls in the office as well as visiting the hospital more than on other times of the month. It was weird to watch people change during the full moon.

freeadultcontent 06-02-2004 10:28 PM

Oh how PT Barnum was so spot on.

BT 06-03-2004 02:11 AM

"to catch the wolf you have to be the wolf..... howwwwww howwwooooooooooooooooooooooo..." Going running again in the full moon at 5 am. howwwwwhowwwwooooooooooooooo.. :1orglaugh

EviLGuY 06-03-2004 02:24 AM
