I wonder if hosting companies will start offering legal spammers servers. Now that spamming is cool if you follow the rules what will upstream providers and such think.
|
I wonder if people will start suing the blacklists for unfair business practices and whatever else... I have a feeling blacklists are going to be injunctioned to death in the next six months.
|
wwoooooo hooo!!!
|
hhhhhhhhhhhhmmmm
|
Haha, it's legal to send UNSOLICITED bulk mail but it's illegal to harvest emails. Where else is there to get them, just buying lists?
|
Quote:
And how do you know/prove that your list was not harvested? And is it legal to harvest data that contains emails if you do not use or store the emails? |

I don't think spammers will get as far as they think they will by sueing people who have anti lists... :Graucho
|
Yep here in Mtl spam gets you a slap on the hand lol not even ....the worst situation would be an ISP account deactivation
|
Quote:
Now they anti's if anything would be sued for causing a loss of business to the legal spammer. It depends on how the law is worded but this could be a big issue. Time will tell. |

"This bill does not stop a single spam from being sent. It only makes that spam slightly more truthful."

That means we have 130 some odd days to spam the freaking hell out of the world with shit. :1orglaugh

so let me get this straight I can mail the fuck outta peole if i dont change headers and give an opt-out? And the upstream cant do anything? I dont mail but I maybe very soon
|
Yes they can stocktrader... think about it... The phone company has a TOS... just like AOL. Now when I contract for phone services, its a legal assumption that I read or had read to me their terms of service-service contract. If I don't like that they shut off telemarketing calls, then I can contract with someone that doesn't.
Same with AOL... if we used them and I didn't like that they shut that spam away from me, then their is always Earthlink etc. Now say our company posts a list that shows email addresses that we have rec'v'd spam from, it is NOT our legal responsibility if YOU use that list to block spam from as well. Spammers are throwing the party abit early... And the ones that didn't follow the rules to begin with won't follow them now, so that law could very possibly be the noose around their necks. They'll probably amend that law to say that you can no longer put optouts on yet another list for resale. No more of that "or one of our affiliated sites". lol Disclaimer! POSSIBLE Noose! lol |

And I'm not talking about companies that show a list of emails that spammed them. That's just factual information. I'm talking about the blacklists that are used so other companies can block emails to their customers. That isn't the main issue anyhow. As far as spammers not following the law now, what law? Some states made some piss ant laws but there has never been federal regulation. I have never heard of a phone company filtering telemarketing calls before they got to you. You do have the option to block that phone number yourself. I'm going to read the law more when I'm less tired and do some reading on some things but I bet there is a good chance that blocking legal spam will be a problem for ISP's. |
why did i vote for BUSH ?
i should vote for someone else :( |
