You now must be 21 to buy guns or ammo at walmart

http://i2.cdn.turner.com/money/dam/a...re-780x439.jpg

Walmart will only sell guns and ammunition to people over the age of 21 from now on.
The company said in a statement Wednesday that it decided to review its firearm sales policy "[i]n light of recent events."

"Going forward, we are raising the age restriction for purchase of firearms and ammunition to 21 years of age. We will update our processes as quickly as possible to implement this change," a statement said.

"We are also removing items from our website resembling assault-style rifles, including nonlethal airsoft guns and toys," Walmart (WMT) said. "Our heritage as a company has always been in serving sportsmen and hunters, and we will continue to do so in a responsible way."

The news comes amid a broad public push to tighten gun regulations in the wake of a mass shooting at a Florida high school on February 14 that left 17 people dead.

Dick's Sporting Goods, the nation's largest sporting goods retailer, said on Wednesday it would stop selling assault-style weapons like the one used in the Parkland, Florida, high school shooting. It also raised the age of sale of all firearms to 21.

Walmart raises minimum age for firearm purchases to 21 - Feb. 28, 2018

I think you can set your own age limits in stores if you want to. There are bars in a lot of college towns that have rules that they don't let in anyone under 23 in because they don't want drunk college kids in there. A while back I was at the grocery store and bought a lighter. I had to show ID to prove I was 18. A few months later I stopped at 7-11 and bought one without ID. There is no law that requires it, but some stores do require it.

No, they can't change federal law. The law says AT LEAST 18. They aren't required to sell it to you if you are 18.

In the end, the market will decide how this works out for them. If they see a massive slump in sales, they will know they did the wrong thing.

There isn't a Walmart anywhere near where I live so I don't find myself in them very often so I knew they sold guns, just not how many. That said, a friend of mine who does a lot of hunting and target shooting competitions owns about 20-25 guns and most of them he has bought at Walmart because he says the prices are better.

This is another reason why nobody listens to you.

Since when does a Trump lover not know what goes on inside of a Walmart?

You are a phony and a fraud. Congrats on outing yourself! :thumbsup

I think we are about to find out. If a gay couple can sue a baker who chose not to make them a cake, you would think a person who is of legal age to buy something, but being denied it based only on their age would be able to sue.

You think? Are they or are they not? Are you asking or telling?

A company that size, has the best lawyers by the way.

They actually get sued a lot for selling guns and ammo that get used in murders.

Btw, Walmart doesn't sell alchohol to people of legal age if they are with a teenager or often times, their own children.

Would love to see you sue walmart though :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

It's shitty what they've done to 18 year olds for years now.

I turned 18 just in time to be "grandfathered" in for the legal drinking age.

Think about it...you are a legal ADULT at 18 years of age (and most people are physical adults by 14 or 15 years old...but we are talking legality).

So you are a fully endowed with your constitutional rights at the age of 18. Able to sign a contract, buy a home, etc.

And we have a nation full of ADULTS who can not legally buy a fucking beer? And now they won't be "allowed" to get a shotgun to protect their home?

I would say this is more bullshit and getting way too tricky.

If we are going down this road...then the legal age of an "adult" needs to be changed to 21.
No more sending 18, 19, and 20 year olds off to war and then telling them they can't even go to a bar on the weekends.

Hell, there were a few 15 year old famous war HEROS during the revolutionary war. You damn well better believe that those young MEN had a drink when they wanted to and owned guns both before and after the war.

People these days act immature and irresponsible because that's the way our society raises and coddles them.
Up until the last few decades...a boy had to become a MAN at a much earlier age.

These days? They get to stay on mommy and daddy's insurance until they are 26 years old.
And the media refers to 18 and 19 year olds as "kids". :disgust

Ha today people call thirty year olds "kids".
I left home at 18 and made my way to the big bad city of Manhattan without a penny to my name. It was shame to have to go back home like a little bitch so I stuck it out and made something of myself by 21 (journalism).

Bah kids today!! Get off my internet!

Buy a big dog or get a burglar alarm system. Both are better at protecting you than a gun.

Well trips down memory lane are great Robbie, but I think you will find that the phrase "active shooter" is a modern addition to the national lexicon.

Anyone who has brought up a teenager will tell you that at their worst they are a toxic mix of hormones, mood swings, vile outbursts and unpleasant odours.

But it passes, and its not personal.

A couple of years later all is well, you fix your relationship with them, and they become decent human beings again. Managing the worst years are tough, but you get there.

So do you really want hormone ridden modern teens shooting up the place because we cannot make laws that move with the times ?

:2 cents:
