I cant stand it when its just bland...

No, you misunderstand - I dont mean 'Eat Your Poo'...

I mean eat the 'shit' that you create... ie COOKED MEALS from grocery store bought ingredients...

When you cook a meal, via a recipe, do you add extra herbs 'n spices to your 'Concoction' / 'shit'... ?

BAKO 11-22-2012 09:13 AM

I cook a ton of Indian food and while most dishes have a large selection of spices i like to add a little extra Turmeric. I also like my spicy food, hot so i will add a few extra dried Thai red chillies and maybe an extra teaspoon of Gram Masala. Yum Yum.

Take a look into Turmeric it seems that while it has a strange dry taste on its own, it has some properties that the FDA are looking into as being very beneficial for our health ?

Add a teaspoon to your rice before you cook it , it adds flavor and color..

most of the time you have to add them at the end anyway or they will render into nothing by the time everything else is cooked so I don't get what you are trying to say here.

I agree, but didn't want to say anything, as I didn't wanna sound argumentative... :2 cents:

Interesting link, thanks

Its amazing to read that added to Onion or Cauliflower increases its potency greatly.

yeah i found that interesting as well. I need to get on some indian dishes. Kind of harder for me because I am not supposed to eat flours or sugars. But vegetables always work ;)

Can you eat chickpea flour? A lot of Indian food uses it. Vegetable based not grain.

I get whole dried turmeric roots, looks like cat poo, but when you bash them up they're bright orange.

I cook everything to my own taste. Only thing that gets added at the end is parsley and Parmesan for pasta, fresh ground pepper onto salads.

The key to cooking is this, all seasoning happens at the start.

Corriander and Chilli are my favourite add-ons if they go with the dish. Indian and Chinese food are my favourite for cooking.

I buy some pre-mixed steak spice for barbecued meats, wish I could find out what is in it and remove the MSG though.

Why would I add herbs and spices to my shit?

I live in front of a huge fresh market in Montreal so always have fresh spices. With that said I am a big fan of the Hot Cock Sauce for once food is cooked. :thumbsup

He Asked if you add anything before you Eat it. So Not Sure why you didn't understand what i meant. What i got from the Question is Do You add Salt, Pepper, Chili's, M & M's , Thyme, etc. If you Make the Recipe or Food Right You Should Never need to add anything to it. If i read the question incorrect ignore me but i stand by What i say on Post Herb/spice adding after something is made.
