OK, I got negative comments about my buttons so I have tried to make a whole
new look.

I think it looks pretty good. Easy to understand and use. I'm no expert in this kind of thing though.

I really like the idea of your player that's for sure..

- Clicking the video area should pause/start the video.

- Skin isn't all that appealing when compared to the standard players. Really needs some work there. Would be good to be able to build your own skin like flowplayer.

- using things like slowmo is confusing. You should be able to set it while the video is paused. Kept trying to get it to work, figured it was broken, and then I finally clicked on it while the video was playing.

- Seems that a bunch of things require the video to be playing before they will work. For example, I can't seek while the video is paused while I can in jwplayer/flowplayer.

Basically, you need it to function like flowplayer/jwplayer and then add on your cool features.

Not bad. Maybe lose the gradient. On a single color the buttons would pop a little more, and perhaps keep the PLAY / RW/ FF on one side, with the LOOP, SLOW, and audio on the other.

Yep, the play button has to be clicked before the slomo will work.

It was easier to set it up that way since I didn't need to execute the play functions.
But that is something that can be done for sure.

i think the slowmo and the loop feature are great, the player control bar and buttons looks cheesey. just copy one of the nice JW Player skins or Vimeo's player.

I like the idea of a solid color. I was thinking that people wouldn't think I tried to
make it look good though. Hmmmmmmm?

I split the buttons because I wanted to make the progress bar centered but not make it
shorter. That's a tough one because when looping a long video the "start" and "end" buttons
get really close making it tricky to get the exact loop of something short like a cumshot.

Well, I can't really copy their buttons I think.
I'm distributing the player so maybe that is not in their license.

Yes, I'm an Actionscript programmer.

I doubt these other players have plugins for loop and slomo because I would have
used their players instead of making this one.

I searched for a way to do this but found nothing short of using Flash Media Server
or encoding multiple videos at different speeds.

I didn't make this player with any intentions of selling but after using it for a while
I decided to see if other webmasters might want to use it.

I love using it when I'm watching porn.

I loop the cumshot and slomo that MoFo everytime. :1orglaugh

Those players have been around for a long time and that allowed them to develop
a lot of skins. I will develop new skins over time for sure.

Bottom line, surfers don't care. The whole thing disappears when they play the video.
My task is clearly to make webmasters like it. That's hard. :1orglaugh

I think the novelty of the features of loop and slow motion will win the surfers
faster then the webmaster. Webmasters are super critical because they know the
inner workings of websites and know what "good design" is. Surfers don't know that
and I don't think they actually care. They care if it works and they see the video.

But I will definitely work on some new skins as things progress.

I'm really excited about it, but of course, I made it so......................

I need to stick to programming because at least I invented something with this player,
I never invent anything in porn. I don't really know much about porn.
I'm just a programmer that said "Wow, they let you sign up and start working
right away in porn, no hassles". So I built sites without really understanding
what surfers really want in porn. I just throw up categories of porn and that's all
I really know about it. Some people will say "just do what you like"; but that is not
all there is to it.

I like it very easy to use but the buttons could do with some work to make them stand out more

Great functionality, just needs a designer to make it look the part - goodluck with it, loved the way you have setup the loop and slowmo (as others have said).

hmm, not bad at all ... but the colored SLOW button looks like a sore thumb there :/ ehm, and call me nitpicky, but the FF/RW arrows look edgy to me ... those shud b smoother imo ... else, nice approach to some new features in a flv player ;)

The slomoplayer plays slow motion without Wowza or Flash Media Server.

One point for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Slomoplayer has 4 slow speeds, that plugin has just 2.
The video restarts a little when changing speeds; not on slomoplayer however.

I could add backward slowmotion, but don't really think it is useful.
Fast forward might be good but not really felling that for adult applications.
Slow motion means the surfers see more, fast forward means the surfer sees less.

Maybe the solution is to do the buttons in photoshop.

I drew the graphics inside of flash.
That's best when the graphics change size, but that's not so relevant in this player.
The size changes based on the size someone sets the player but it's never going to
be huge and pixelate.

Fast forward means they get to the spot they want without skipping 5 minutes of footage too.

I think you should also consider a "web2.0" sort of style for your site instead of the current one. Just a thought....

it looks shitty, in full screen., with all colors and things., looks like we are still in 90's
in the whole the idea sucks., why do i need to watch video in slow motion ?

this is not the first time i have seen your site., i have seen it previously and out of curiosity i checked that slomo player and i didn't liked the idea and the player.

i only liked the function loop video.,
else the color filters and that much buttons , make your player for geeks and not for regular users.,

True, but that also means using Wowza or Flash Media Server.
Without those or some other streaming software, you can't skip forward in the
video past what is already downloaded anyway. Which means you can just click in the
progress bar and skip forward just as fast if there is no streaming server.

In other words : 95% of webmasters are not going to be able to fast forward in a
way that even matters since they are not going to run wowza or Flash media server.
Those 95% will only fast forward through what they already saw when the video was
downloading. So, I might add it, but I don't think it will make people who don't use
wowza say "wow! This is great".

agreeing with the masses here. just needs a makeover and it'll be more appealing. had a few UI quirks but that could also be handled with a more clean/intuitive design

find a designer who can lay you out a player mock in illustrator, grouping the elements so you can easily export and turn them into clips. i doubt it would cost that much as it's a pretty flat & easy job. then you can take their main elements and expand from there, following their general design scheme.

why don't you take one of the preset player skins and just dick around with the vectors until it looks "custom" and follow their design scheme for your extra buttons/clips/etc?

All the buttons fade away if you move the mouse away from them so that helps.

I just answered a direct question from Mutt, no attack to you or anything, don't be so defensive. Plus, I contacted you to do some cool design for YOUR player FOR FREE and you asked me to... PAY YOU! You could have got EXACTLY what people is asking you for and you couldn't even realize it. Furthermore, you deny it:

Maybe you should just slow down, get down your horse and try a more humble and proactive way. You could be selling lots of copies but you're so stubborn and greedy you can't even see reality. Comparing your player to the best in the market and even charging more than the top player in the market won't be of any help.

And as cool and novelty a "loop feature" can be, I'm pretty sure most webmasters will take the player with more features (specially those that actually MAKE MONEY) rather than a novelty. In other words: you can't compete with the best with something that looks as a bad crack trip (your first version) or a super amateurish "I don't give a fuck" look.

Why would any programmer do a free design for you but you have a contract where the
programmer cannot reuse the design. How does the programmer survive like that?

what are you talking about? I said I WOULD PROVIDE THE DESIGN so you just add it to the player (5 mins? 10 mins?) Really no idea what are you talking about here. And yes, you asked me to PAY YOU for an X amount of licenses in advance (don't remember and don't have the mails).

Uh, and btw, your player isn't free. It's free only with deactivated features, then it has a price tag for sites that don't charge (???) and then ANOTHER price tag for sites with subscription based models. Am I lying? Thus, last time I checked $99.95 is more than $95 (FP) or $89 (JW)

and with this attitude don't expect much people to contact you. Did it occur to you that MAYBE people has other times and other things to do and MAYBE they could be contacting you tomorrow? Seriously, do whatever you want, if you don't care about your own business why should I? As everyone else has stated, you need a better skin. If you're starting out, you need to go look at the best player skins out there - and yours has to be BETTER.

Well, this is not my first try at making a skin that webmasters like so I'm doubting that
magic will happen on the next try.

I hope the function of the player will be the deciding factor for now.

I have never stopped surfing a website because I didn't like the player buttons, but
I do stop if the player doesn't work.

Some will choose design over functionality.
Yahoo has a much better design than Google but it's not enough to keep them
competitive.
